I know he’d bring out his phone and show us render pictures of things he had done that looked ok... if you look on a cloudy dull day you don’t notice as much... it’s when the sun shines and you have to remove all the bulbs from the lights is the problem! :-( But he says you can’t view a rendered...
I know we had to pay £4,000 for a private plasterer to come in and redo all the inside walls!! The entire build has been hell...fighting at every turn but he just shouted us down (as we lived on site in a caravan) said that we were constantly interfering everyday... we weren’t, we were just...
I have him the opportunity to quote but he was really busy and took forever to get back so I thought he didn’t want the job - should have waited and listened to my mother!! ;-)
Thank you for the detailed explanation... my builder has an answer to EVERYTHING... thinks it all looks “spot on” and we are the most “difficult customers he has ever met!” We did another renovation 3 years ago with a superb builder who we never had a cross word with or any of his trades - it’s...
When you say distorted reveals do you mean small or not straight? Someone said it was going to be different to top coat it again due to no tolerance with the window reveals - it’s more obvious at the back I think
The irony is I have 49 emails (not even a lie) talking about making sure the render was done properly as we were so worried about it! Apart from the lumps and bumps all the edges aren’t sharp at all... do they use something special to get those lovely crisp edges?
Looks lovely!
No we owe the last £4,000 for the job, we said we weren’t happy to pay the builder and he is threatening legal action... but if everyone says this is as bad as we think, why should we pay?
We have had a terrible build and still owe the builder his last £4,000... we have refused to pay so far as we were told it would cost £15,000 to take off the render and re-do it properly. The builder is threatening to now take us to court... just at our wits end and wanted confirmation this...
He subbed it out to a 1 man band... we owe the builder £4,000 for his last payment but we are so disappointed not yet paid it and he said we are bring “really difficult” and shouldn’t have put those lights on it!! Just don’t know what to do... he is threatening to take us to court for not paying...
Hello, I know up/down lighters aren’t great for showing flaws but does this look acceptable? I constantly look at other people’s lights and their render does not look this bad... the builder is telling us it’s up to Building Standards and minor flaws are acceptable... I don’t class this as minor??
