I am so going to go down this route, too old to use the tyrolean gun now. Just one silly question though, I've always used the bagged cullomix for a tyrolean finish & washed/sharp sand for a heavier finish (roughcast) what are you guys using with this hopper, normal building sand?

Hi y'all, its been 5 years since I was last on here! Just wondering if any of you lot participate in Triathlons or swimming? If so how do you find the swimming on your shoulders/arms, mine always feels fatigued before I start?

If you have to take a radiator off with TRV's put a 5pence piece in the bottom of the valve. When you then screw the valve down it does shut the water off! I've had too many that still leak even when shut fully off (past the frost setting) in the past.

Is it proven to prevent cracking or is it only a suggestion? I would have thought that the fibers would make the finish a little tougher, so in that sense it seems plausible?

I was told by a sparky that as long as its got rcd protection its good enough!! I guess he was pulling my pisser then?:RpS_cursing: I would have thought that having a rcd is a better protection that 110?

I've never heard of it in skim!! Did you not see any fibres at all then matey? I would have thought that some would trowell through at some stage?

Ahh that's another point Layiton matey, if your wall isn't flat to start with does the flexibility of the plastic trowell leave the humps & hollows? Can you polish with them?

I hear what you are saying matey but if there is coving up especially the ornate stuff you just cannot overboard!! I know its a bit of a piss about but like I said in an earlier post I now pva (watery) the artex then scrape, then pva proper. Seems ok so far! Admittedly only done about 3 or so...

A fair few months now bubbles mate. I just got sick of my skim peeling off the artex on 2nd trowell. Thing is when a 'blister' appears or it pulls off a little I end up scrapeing it back & before you know it ths whole ceiling as come down without too much effort but obviously loads of mess!! So...
