Ok, just been doing the odd day, and evenings/weekend with a plasterer while working round my old jobs, just tying a few loose ends up before I jump all in. I'm enjoying it tho so that's the main thing.

Seen a plasterer the other day, skimming on to boards. Put one thick coat on, then sponged it with a sponge pad, then trowel up.? Thoughts on this please.

Just out of curiosity, why is it not recommended to PVA blockwork prior to dabbing? Sorry if this has already been answered, but this thread has over 600 replys and couldn't find it Thanks again.
