    Patch Rendering, any tips?

I’m just refurbishing a house and I’m competent enough at skimming, but need to patch render several small areas externally. I have most of the tools needed but was thinking of either making my own mix or shall I just buy bagged render and hope for the best, I have mesh and SBR to use if...

    Your method on domestic.

Domestic plastering is a bit of a mixed bag, from flat board to bark effect artex with crumbling window returns and everything in between. With all the latest methods of plastering like flex trowels, sponging, speed skims what’s your preferred methods? I’m getting back into it and have always...

    Pregrit - any good?

I have a lot of silk painted artex walls/ceilings to skim, in the past I used a couple of coats 3-1 water/PVA but someone in the trade said they see a lot of plasterers using pregrit. It looks good stuff but what's the feeling about it here and any tips?

    Newbie says hi!

Thanks all, some of you are nuts! Just working on a house which I have bought with a mate, it is a complete refurbish job, lots of the walls are RAF and ones that aren’t are covered in artex, the ceilings are no better so loads for me to get though, think I’ll ask a few questions in the main...

    Newbie says hi!

Hi all, I’m new here but it looks a good place with lots of good info and a bit of a laugh too. As far as plastering goes, I have done enough in the past to know how to get a wall looking flat but I’m certainly no expert, all the plastering I have previously done is with a 13” Marshalltown...
