    krend on timber frame

Mono onto renderboard (only AquaPanel) is no problem. We have done loads. K-rends spec is HPX and mesh, 10mm beads and mono..... done, but always get a spec from the render manufacturer so your covered.

    CPI General Purpose Render

Has anyone used this a lot... any good? Do you need to scratch coat it first or can it be sprayed in one go (two passes)? Does the blockwork grin through if you dont scratch coat it first? Comments appreciated.

    external render job

If you're going to rend aid it, I would put some nylon mesh in to that, and then OCR it, its less hassle than getting a cement mixer, a pile of sand, giving it a scratch coat, waiting for it to cure, then giving it a second coat of s+c!

    accelerator

Looking for a bit of advice on how to dose this using a mtec300, as the water supply is constantly filling the butt up (butt with stop cock) Is anyone using accelerator with an electric machine? How is it done? 2-3 butts for a spray - pre dosed? Its getting towards that time of year when when...

    K1 cracking

We just started a large house with K1, (I was talked into using it by the reps) sprayed a pallet on by 10;30, all good nice to spray and rule, thought they might have got this right, but then noticed large nasty cracks all over, especially between scaff lifts. It was still quite soft too. So we...

Thanks albertnobacon. Whats the waiting time like for same day scrape?(standard 7N blocks) same as parex? The only thing is it doesn't have a BBA cert at the moment.

    K1/ hard work

Got a job coming up soon for k1 (300m2), whats it like compared to the others, (e-grade, parex, ect) Does it stay softer than egrade? whats the workability like? Went off egrade because of the hair line cracking problems, apparently the k1 is supposed to be a bit more flexible to overcome this...

    Knauf MP75

Yeah i agree, you can get the finish just the same as multi. as long as you know how to use it.
  24. C

    Knauf MP75

Blimey, that's a high water dosage! I was gonna start at about 900. I'm probably too used to renders with a lower dosage. Will a uni star r+s be ok to use with mp75
  25. C

    Knauf MP75

Hi Ryan, yeah spraying it on with the M-tec 300. What was the water setting?
  26. C

    Knauf MP75

Anybody using this at the mo' ? I'll be using it next week for the first in a few years. Is it still nice and creamy to use? Was told by someone that it slumps a lot and doesn't close in as it used to. ??

Last 2 days been a nightmare

Yeah they've lost a lot of custom due to the hairline cracking. They have been in touch with me offering a couple of free pallets of K1 to trial. We used to use it all the time, but now use Parex mainly. I'll see what its like- hopefully its good, I do like the 'sparkle' of k-rend.

    SM700 Pro

Yeah as long as you get the first coat just right, To thick and the second coat will be too grainy. Too thin and it hangs like fcuk, but the latter is better. Don't see why your maite top coat wouldn't work- give it a go.

    SM700 Pro

Cheers Rich, But i think It'll be the first and last time I do it!

    SM700 Pro

Gave it a go today. And it went pretty well - looks good. Gave it a tight coat with mesh, left it over night then topped it next day. Gave it a good spat and then a splash of water to tidy things up. And like you said GT776 let it pull right in before trying to finish it. Got the Rafina power...

    SM700 Pro

yeah was thinking of meshing one day to pull out the thickness and straighten things up a bit, then toping it the next day. so you would use a standard rendering float or what? We've got some dense sponge floats, I'm gonna give it a go with them Not looking forward to it I must admit
  33. C

    SM700 Pro

Has anyone had any experience finishing this stuff to recieve paint, like a plain face s+c render? Its on Aquapanel, so it'll be fully meshed and using 6mm beads. Any tips would be appreciated.

    Mono Internals whats your method?

Same as you Keith, go gentle and its ok. I've got a blue one, a red one and an aluminium one, and they all do it! You've got to go easy with the angle planers anyway. A couple of scrapes too much and you've fcuked it - you've got to angle it just right
  35. C

Parex - same day/next day scrape

Yeah we'll be spraying it on, it's monorex GF. Just did a little test panel on a piece of aquapanel at 9 this morning, its still soft now at 8 in the evening. Next day scrape it is then!!
  36. C

Parex - same day/next day scrape

Got a Parex mono job to do next week (hopefully no rain) Just wondering if any one has done a next day scrape as the tempretures aren't that warm at the mo. Don't Know wheather to risk it or not. Its on brickwork with monogris basecoat.

    Lafarge G-Tec Render Board

Thanks for all your imput, I'm gonna do the job in Knauf Aqua Panel. I think its the best option, Much more substance/strenght to it and i trust it!and i don't think that a paper backed board will stand the test of time, it's bound to get damp at some stage and it sound like most of you would...

    Lafarge G-Tec Render Board

will it take k-rend? after hpx and mesh of course. Has it got the strenght of a cement board?
  40. C

    Lafarge G-Tec Render Board

Has anybody had any experience with this product? Thinking of using it on a timber framed house instead of Aqua panel. Its lighter and easier to cut but I'm a bit dubious about it - cause it looks and feels like plasterboard. Does it take both mineral and acrylic systems?

    filzomat or similar

are the angled steel disks any good then or does it do much the same as the nail float?
  42. C

    filzomat or similar

I've been using the nail float attachment. I've seen the angled steel attachment, but I didn't know what it was for. I thought it was for trowelling or something. Is it worth getting one of those? And is an orange sponge all you need, no floating disk?
  43. C

    filzomat or similar

Blones, whats the crack to floating up marmorit. what are the attachments you need?
  44. C

    filzomat or similar

I want to try floating up marmorit with it. Has any one any experience with that. Spunky, you? was that your you tube clip with the filz o mat?
  45. C

    filzomat or similar

I recon the scrapers will last a month or so (depending how hard it is) but you can buy replacement ones, I think they're about 3 or 4 quid each - the disk takes 5. We did try to put the I section over it but it was screeching like fook and had little effect but it still looked ok even with the...
  46. C

    filzomat or similar

yeah mate i'm well happy with it. It took 2 hours off a 70 bag scrape down! They've got a slowish speed motor so you can't do much damage if if you accidently dig in. It's good to get the surface off so you can finish it with the hand scrapers, gets it pretty flat too - its been to hard to I...
  47. C

    filzomat or similar

I've just bought one of the eibenstock ones, been using it for scraping down k-rend - there're s**t hot. not used any of the sponge disks yet though

    ocr spray

I always use a butt. The amount of crap that comes through the tap soon blocks the filter.

    overnight and day spray

Yeah, sprayed 110 bags of k-rend on friday. Started about 2 and finished bout 5. it was fookin hard sat morning took till 3 to finish it all but there was only two of us. was a two handed scrape towards the end. could have done with one of those electric scrapers! not going to put as much on...
