    Hopper guns

I’ve heard someone say that before mate I can’t see how though? I work alone most of the time so it’s not always possible to do it by hand
  2. S

    Hopper guns

Why don’t you like spraying it? Surely a lot less labour intensive and a more uniform finish?
  3. S

    Hopper guns

Ok mate thanks do you float it after or not bother?
  4. S

    dying trade

I’ve been saying this for years mate, all schools now push you into university. Get a massive student loan then p*ss it up for a few years then you eventually get a half decent salary, by the time your tax, ni, student loan and pension get deducted you get left with nothing the system is...

    Strong grip

Any one used this stuff to stick beads up for rendering? Builders merchants said it’s the equivalent to pink grip?
  8. S

    14 inch plasiflex

They’re handy for stair winders mate
  9. S

    Staple guns

My mate was going through a dewalt staple gun every 4 months and I thought wtf how?? Next time I saw him he was storing them in his bucket with his brushes etc :ROFLMAO:
  10. S

    Dewalt flex volt batteries

Yeah get 9ah batteries. I get around 18 bags of skim to a full charge but they’re 4 year old batteries now I reckon you’d probably get half a pallet to a brand new one though :ROFLMAO:
  11. S

    Refina plaziflex

Not tried one mate they good? Got the REFINA super flex 1 or 2 can’t remember thing is bomb proof I reckon I could kick it down the stairs still be good to go
  12. S

    Refina plaziflex

That’s not on flat runs that’s just a rough average of what I get over a house
  13. S

    Refina plaziflex

I don’t get 20meter a bag get roughly around 15m2 per bag.. but that’s measuring taking openings out don’t get paid through windows.. so measuring through windows probably a bit more than 15m2
  14. S

    Refina plaziflex

I’m with you on that Algeeman it’s plasterboard the f*cker gets scraped on!

    Vans

Decided on a transit can’t go wrong from what I hear, there’s obviously a reason why Vivaros are a lot cheaper than every other van!
  16. S

    Vans

Heard nothing but good things about trafics but I thought they were the same van as a Vivaro? People telling me they’re different? My Mrs used to care for an older woman and she was forever crashing her car getting it in the garage  her driveway was big enough for 2 jumbo jets f*ck knows...
  17. S

    Vans

People been saying that about houses for years! I can’t see anything coming down in price unfortunately any time soon but in short I can’t hold out that long mate
  18. S

    Vans

I think it’s all a lottery 2nd hand vans seems to be a mixed bag everyone says they’re a heap of sh*t get a transit, might go for a trafic instead
  19. S

    Vans

brilliant van mate but I mainly do site work so was ideal but going to start trying to push for a bit more domestic so ends up being an absolute pain!
  20. S

    Vans

That’s what I had before mate a berlingo that was the best van I’ve ever had
  21. S

    Vans

I know mate I keep thinking just get a transit and be done with it! But I just want something different but then there’s a reason why everyone has a transit! Vw are the rolls Royce’s of vans from what I can gather but ££££££

    Vans

Looking at buying a Vauxhall Vivaro 2016 plate 37k miles full service history as it’s an ex BT Just wondering anyone had one? It seems like some people rave about them and others say they’re a heap of sh*t! Personally what I know about vans you could write on the back of a stamp!
  23. S

    Bostik green grit.

  24. S

    Views on different sized trowels

Just not for me anymore I used to do 2 50m2 hits a day good money but the wear and tear on ya body gets to you, I’d much rather do 3 30ish m2 hits and be able to chill for 5mins while it’s on grab a coffee or something, each to their own tho mate! If I had a labourer I’d do bigger hits
  26. S

    Views on different sized trowels

I used to do 50m2 hits but just found after you’ve done one trying to pick yourself up for another one was too depressing :ROFLMAO: would rather just chuck on smaller amounts get stuff ready in between
  27. S

    Views on different sized trowels

That’s the way! As little as possible for the most money
  28. S

    Views on different sized trowels

Couldn’t think of anything worse than running round like a lunatic doing a big hit.. been there done that… would rather do 3 small sets a day than 2 big ones
  29. S

    Views on different sized trowels

    25 boards In one gauge??!

    Views on different sized trowels

When you get used to a 13 anything else feels like a light saber

    Dewalt cordless light.

Or just turn the thing off completely
  32. S

    Dewalt cordless light.

Yeah they’re class but chew through batteries on 2nd and 3rd setting but why don’t you just use a candle like the rest of these tight asses on here??? Pack of matches instead of battery’s
  33. S

    18 inch serrated spat

People rave about them, Can’t really see the benefits of them other than keying it up ready for mesh? Got a 1.2m serrated edge
  34. S

    Jointing Trowel

REFINA super flex 2 but take while to break in
  35. S

    Cordless mixer

May aswell add a mixing drill you got the set then
  36. S

    Cordless mixer

I like how precise you was “£790” :ROFLMAO: (y) I’m not comparing it to a mega mixer, a mega mixer will always win it’s a corded drill, like comparing pele to haaland different generation, different players. For how easy it makes things every spread should have one. Other trades spend thousands...
  37. S

    Cordless mixer

With inflation that’s about 10k now so £600 is not so bad
  38. S

    Cordless mixer

Mix up with a stick then, use a candle as a light and carry on using a triangular wheel on ya barrow
  39. S

    Cordless mixer

Some of you lot are priceless ffs… it’s the 2nd most important tool we need after a trowel and you all don’t want to spend £600 to make ya life far easier :ROFLMAO::oops:
  40. S

    Multi

Leave a handful of dishwasher salt in the water the night before to soften up, a handful per bag takes all the greasy ness out thank me later
  41. S

    Thin coat spat

    Nela hard spats are good
  42. S

    Thin coat spat

    Boring you
  43. S

    Cordless mixer

Mines 4+ years old now still on it’s original batteries going strong easily still get 25 bags to a full charge… dab it works fine but you need a positive paddle… they’re £600 ffs not 6k!! Mixed up day in day out 6-7 bags a day

    K rend

That’s what I thought. Would be scraping 3/4 of it back off, what would you guesstimate at m2 per bag of top coat with a nice base coat?
  46. S

    K rend

  47. S

    K rend

    Cheers mate
  48. S

  49. S

    K rend

Got this small area to k rend, k rend say it’s 1m2 per bag for the top coat, is this what everyone goes by or do you get more? K rend also say 2m2 per bag for base coat but been told it’s more like 4-6m2 Any help much appreciated (y)

    Help with my first quote!

What if the people don’t have the money for full hack off and float and set or dab? If the walls are solid and nothings blown I don’t see the problem?
