    Blue grit removal before render

    That's actually a good shout

    Blue grit removal before render

I was kinda thinking the same thing but rep said it needs removing as it's not suitable for rendering applications, that's why they do an external one for rendering. Not only that, on the off chance something does go wrong and all the weight of render pulls it off or don't adhere properly. It...

    Blue grit removal before render

Yes exactly what the technical rep told me. His words

    Blue grit removal before render

I'll just have to wait and see how it goes, I will probably just soak it as much as possible and remove by hand hoping it comes off easy. Isn't until mid August anyway so at least it won't be as hot as it has been lately

    Blue grit removal before render

Well I did ask them at ever build and he said water would help since its PVA based. Just don't fancy hacking away at it if it's proper stuck on. I'm hoping it isn't but the previous guy put it on at least a few months ago??

    Blue grit removal before render

Hello everybody, I'm after a bit of advice here since I've not come across this one yet. Just been to price up a render for one side of a semi detached as the previous builder will not come back to finish. He hacked off previous render and applied blue grit over the masonry behind. I was...

    Mixing drill repair

Trouble is they took long enough to look at it as they was busy and I can only use my crap spare for so long. Might still get a second opinion and just get another one anyway.

    Mixing drill repair

Quick update, know it was a long time ago but I've just been quoted £230 to fix it. Apparently the armature and brushes have gone. New drill it is then
  9. TedTheSpread92

New lad done a good job?

Sorry but that is rough as f***. Don't really know where to begin but I think you already know that ain't nowhere near good enough.
  10. TedTheSpread92

    Mixing drill repair

Well f**k you too. I don't know of any shops round here that would do it for £20 either. Sound advice though so cheers everyone. Having to use my spare at the minute which is b+q and s**t.

    Mixing drill repair

Got a refina mixing drill that is on its last legs, only had for about 4 years so a bit disappointed it's packing up. I've replaced the fuse and rewired it but it pops and sparks whenever I give it power, still runs just feels like it's going to blow up. Is there any way of fixing it or is it...

    Euro 2020/21

As an Englishman, I would like to have seen Scotland get something out of that game. However they simply ain't good enough, Czech Republic was probably their best bet of getting points as well. Tournament over

Need advice on a job guys

    Bet 365 boss

Thumbs up to the pub poker, or poker in general to be honest. That is the only type of gambling I do on the regular and gambling is a very loose term. At least with poker you play against players and not the house, game of skill and not chance.

Customer didn't want d+d and I'm not gonna argue with it, makes not that much difference to me as well. Nice to have a bit of a change from boarding. Both have pros and cons in fairness.
  22. TedTheSpread92

    Access help or advice??

Well its going to be the difference between me talking on here or not looking at all and hanging head in shame. Surprised at how well you're actually doing if I'm honest

    Access help or advice??

Yeah you gotta now just in case, I think I decided to get one shortly after working with my old man. We was d+d a house and he went to trim reveals with Stanley and he must have slipped slightly and basically put the whole blade through that bit of skin in between thumb and index finger.

    Access help or advice??

Hello everyone, Been a while since I've been on here but I've been flat out during lockdown. So got a job coming up where landing ceiling needs overboarding, skim and big stairwall needs float and setting. It's a dog leg staircase so don't know what's best? Don't think ladders will do the trick...

    Make good bonding

No different than using bg bonding, come out nice and customer is happy but more importantly so am I. B and q are now doing a pallet of the make good multi skim for a £1 haha
  31. TedTheSpread92

    Make good bonding

In all honesty, I've used their quick set bonding, normal bonding and the dry wall adhesive. I think all of those are really good to be fair. As for the skim... Wouldn't go near it with a barge pole, utter crap. Just about to use the magic mix now on a light stipple ceiling with their bonding...

I'm not working currently, haven't been for a while now but I am curious as to when plaster will be back in stock. Does anyone know of any news regarding this?? Out of stock within 60 miles at B&Q, wickes, travis, jewsons, ccf and anywhere else for that matter - people even selling em for £50 a...

What is going on with multi finish!?

Bought from Ashford, Kent, date is December 2019
  41. TedTheSpread92

What is going on with multi finish!?

Can't see how that would work but you never know, anything would have been better than the utter crap I just used. But does mean you need a bag of dab to hand which I don't
  42. TedTheSpread92

What is going on with multi finish!?

Just picked up some board finish for second hit, no problems whatsoever now. Holding back a lot more between coats
  43. TedTheSpread92

What is going on with multi finish!?

Well I've got batch number so I will send to BG I used multi couple of months ago and didn't really have trouble then. My problem with it now is it just seems to be more miss than hit. Or... Maybe I am genuinely getting worse??
  44. TedTheSpread92

What is going on with multi finish!?

Okay I want to actually know what the hell is going on with multi finish it is definitely not the same. It's behaving like my trowel hasn't worn in yet, tears slightly on final trowels?? Feels stodgy, gluey, seems gritty and coarser than normal. My question is most of my work is overskim can I...

    Council charging for waste now!

So many ideas and obviously looks like it isn't just me in this position then. I think from now on I will just leave the rubbish with customer and if its a big job - skip.
  46. TedTheSpread92

    Council charging for waste now!

So I know this isn't exactly an interesting topic but where I live in Ashford, Kent the council are now charging £6 per sheet or bag of plasterboard and £4 per sack of rubble/hardcore, plaster once set is classed as rubble so as you can imagine this is going to add up. Who knows of a better way...

    Bonding Agents/stabilisers/primers!??

I was under the impression you diluted the sbr down with water at 50-50 leave to dry then pva as normal
  48. TedTheSpread92

    Bonding Agents/stabilisers/primers!??

This is what I am talking about here, lots swear by PVA alone and there are those out there who use completely different products. My old man said to me just the other day that PVA was pretty much the only thing that was readily available. But then it's a different age now with lots and lots of...
