Hi guys looking at getting the new van sign written was just wondering in colour suggestions. The struggle I have is my van is copper brown or brown if you like lol. So didn't know what colour to go with, got a price of someone and since saying I'm thinking or like chrome writing as I think will...
Yeah usually it's just a hand shake. But with the work I'm doing for this other guy he has to do surveys ect for the damp works and give Guarantee for all work.
Your lucky mate I'd be lucky if I had one friend these days. They either let me down when we are about to go out on the bikes or just ignore me when it's time to sort out what we are doing and about going ect!! I need to get on this whole bikes and camping malarkey I think.. I'm missing out!!
Lol yeah sounds about right mate. Thing is mate these are the measures you h e to take now days. Why do people think it's ok for you to buy materials and do the work and not pay. Fair enough if it's a s**t hole or you done a bad job. But with most of us we know that's not the case.
A very good one mate. Made me chuckle this morning. I once had a problem with a guy who done this to me, I phoned his wife at work and also said I will have to go round your mothers if I can't find you or you don't pay me. I honestly was so pissed off. The c**t was driving a new car and what he...
Totally agree. Always get that 1 out off like 100 jobs so I suppose isn't that bad. Just winds me up that people can be like that when they know how hard you have worked to do a good job for them ect.
Yeah it's just scummy people who want something for nothing. I'm sure our kids would be fine with us going to work for f**k all and saying sorry no Xmas pressies this year lol. Honestly people wind me up, I mean let's face it our trade is some serious graft at times and this job has been one of...
Yeah true I have known this from developers and such like. This is a damp proofing job in a home basement of a doctor. 2 doctors I should say his wife and him. Just trying to be tight bastards. At the end of the day you can't agree a price and then once the work is done change your mind. That's...
I had the transit connect lwb high roof connect and had it for 2 years. It was a great little van and earned its money definitely, was sad to see it go but I needed to up size myself as just wasn't enough room for me. I had a roof rack with roller too, most of the time I used 6x3 boards though...
Thing is mate there is a contract in place as the guy does everything above board. So tbh the client hasent got a leg to stand on. Only thing is though a couple of different extras came up and then they started to talk if you pay cash bla bla bla so maybe that may effect it and have something to...
Exactly mate. How can you agree, shake on it then say you don't like the price lol! Well the fella has his work cut out with these two the wife :ROFLMAO: is the one who's complaining.
Hi all, just wondering if any of you hav ever put a price in for a job, customer agrees and then once you have done the job that want to argue about how much it is :muyenojado:
It's someone I sub work off of regular and I've been paid so now it's down to him to sort his money out obviously...
I'd say it's pretty fair as long as there isn't loads of the wall blown ect that you have to take it off and make good. But if it is just get in and skim over I'd say not a bad days money/work.
Yeah it's the weekends out in the fresh air feeling free lol. Nice bikes mate I'll be round for a ride on them soon :fuckyou:. I also own a gsxr-400 that hasn't been rode in a while and in storage. The 525 must have been an absolute animal.
Now that is a perfect story about the youth of today and also losers who don't want to work that's all they do is make excuses it's so boring and totally annoys me in all fairness. f**k off and watch jezza drinking coke and getting fit rot with no teeth in ya head.
I'll be honest in my opinion you don't need a cv, I've never used one in all my life and if they have asked if I have one I tell them no but this is where I have worked this is for how long, this is what I can do ect ect. It's always worked for me and 9/10 I get the position.
Oh dear that's not good but I suppose only way people learn is to have them in and learn why they shouldn't have had them. That's why I always keep a good profile of my work to show people.
No mate haven't shown you, I used to ride a lot of motorcross years back had many bikes and then see one at my dads mates MOT garage, heard it was for sale and bought it there and then after 8 years of no riding. Fell in love all over again haha. I've got an sx125 at the moment and looking at a...
Totally agree with this I hear loads of people moaning about it but don't want to make any changes, goon out buying s**t they don't need all the time and don't want to work late or weekends if needed.
I know mate but everyone wants something for nothing that's the trouble. But you go to some jobs and you see what people have paid for and have a little giggle on the inside.
Then at 2pm he's asking me what time are we going to be finished haha, put the phone down crack on and the quicker I get done what I need to today we can go!
Exactly mate!! This kid was 15 years younger than me and I have more stamina in my little toe I think than he does at all ! Not only that because I was so behind due to being my own labourer as well I was working till 8pm to get the job done on my right schedule, even after moving like 10...
But now days you have to be a geek and think like that as it clearly pays off for us. Nobody wants to go to work for nothing we are all there for the same reason to leave a good tidy job and finish and get paid.
It really pissed me off mate, not only that but I helped him out with other things like boots ect and like I said I even said no hard feelings if it isn't for you. Feel like he took the piss but it is what it is. He had a chance to learn like you said but he didn't want to know.
I recently had a labourer for 2 weeks and it was beginning to cause me so many problems! He had no enthusiasm which I noticed early on but I thought I'd try and praise him when he done something well to make him feel good/proud of himself and maybe start to try and enjoy it a little. TBH I knew...
I've learnt by my mistakes and take pictures before I start and after of all the floors too, I know this can be a bit anal but for the sake of a couple of pictures it's worth it. Least that way if they argue about anything usually a couple of weeks later (why not say at the time job is finished)...
Couldn't agree more. How is anybody meant to even attempt a job like that with a customer who probably thinks he knows everything, tells you your job and how to do it.. and the other comment "AND"... lovely way to talk to people who are going to offer advice ect. Probably got to invoice and get...
 Yeah I wait for it to pick up a little as all you going to do is move it around around before it's firmed up. I dip mine in a bucket of water and seems to be fine or just spray as Cornelius said. Then let it pick up a little before flattening in.
No not straight on, I usually sponge and then clean up all round the edges ect and then maybe flatten off. I then use a refina plaziflex 16" to flatten all the sponge marks out. I only use my steel trowel to put on with.
You still use a trowel just sponge it first instead of the brush, it brings the fat to the service. It's the same as everything people work different and either like it or don't.
