Hi mate it or very powdery just rubbed my hands over it and the top surface rubs off and leaves a powder on my hand and the floor I take it that's bad? Can that be resolved??? Also if I run a Stanley knife over it it score up fairly easy
Thanks for responding again - it does seem strong but if I run my finger over it there is a slight powdery residue on it when I pull it away
I can't go through going back to brick again it's just too messy - think I'll just have to get them to take the skim off blue grit reskim and hope for...
Taking all the skim off definitely on that wall and I will speak to them about the other S&C walls as they have a few cracks as well so if the skim comes off easy then I would like them redone
All the walls that were baten and boarded are perfect
hi mate that's the pixilation of th camera the...
Ah ok mate - it's just they said hack off skim and blue grit I just want to be sure that's right
I was actually up there chatting to them when they were applying the skim in that room (they like to talk) and definitely no bonding it was just 2 coats of multi finish
I'm not sure whether to...
No mate done through a firm found them on ratedpeople - does it look that amateurish? Can I ask why it looks so bad I know it might be a silly question but I don't know and would like to at least know what I'm talking about when they come back

Not looking for ammunition just want to know what they have recommended will work as the are the knew who messed the key up - I'm nkt going to skate them as I said they've been great in coming back I just want the job done right as I currently have 2 bedrooms off and 3 kids sharing a room
Sorry they are coming back to do it I just wanted to be certain in what I want them to do and how they do it as I have lost confidence in their recommendation even though it was them who suggested blue grit
What's the best way to rough it up as the S&C is set hard now?
I honestly really appreciate the time you have taken to come back to me with advice thank you
They've been great come back not asked for more money etc I don't have a problem with them at all I actually like them nice fellas just concerned about the work and want to tell them what I want done to rectify it - do you agree it looks like the key is the issue?
Thank you mate seems like it's the key then wil blue gritting it be enough or should I get them to scratch it up a bit as well or is it too late now it's set?
Thank you so much mate really appreciate the helpful answer and advice
On the walls where it has cracked but not as bad is it worth hacking off them bits as well? And the bits that sound solid will they be ok now as its been a month it could it go so better to hack off all skim and start again...
What is the whole story then mate - sorry to go on but I've it 3 kids sharing a bedroom at the moment and this is really getting to me - they are back Monday and I need to know what to say to them - thank you for your time
I have mate and they have said take off loose skim blue grit and reskim with plastic meshing in the skim to hold it But I'm losing confidence and need it down right this time
I had walls take back to brick and then S&C undercoat which was left to cure for 4/5 days then 2 coats of thistle multifinish applied
After a couple of weeks a few cracks appeared and then another couple of weeks and a few hollow patches and more cracks
I have removed a patch of skim and it...
Also worth mentioning no cracks appeared for a good two weeks and when tapping the walls there were no hollow patches but as time has gone on (about a month now) they have appeared
Hi recently had a room back to brick and S&C now a month later there are lots of cracks and hollow patches - when hacked off there are no cracks in S&C only skim is the key good enough? Any other reasons this could have happened???
