So the past few months on and off I've been skimming all the artex ceilings in a big house. If they are painted it must be with original matt from when the house was built in the early 90's.
I scrape back as usual then apply 2 coats of pva 50% mix as I've always done and had no problem before...
Can tiles be skimmed over if using Blue Grit or whatever its called? I was asked by a customer today but wasn't sure so I said best to knock em off. Opinions..

Hi chaps. I've done lots of over artex and never had any problems until yesterday.
I had to go over artex (not deep) on a landing. I scraped it and put 3 coats of PVA on but the air temp in the house was 32 Deg even with the windows open.. the mix was going off so fast I could barely keep up...
