    Basic guide to external rendering

its not just a rumour, but a fact.if you use any washing up liquids it will kill the cement, and can turn the s/c render to dust,in some cases in about 5 years after application.

    Ace rendering video

see he uses the moniker "traditional plastering" to cover the fact that he's just a useless, lazy, rough c**t!! [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDYeSx-ufDY&feature=[/url]

    Curved ceilings

had a job a few years back where the client wanted quite a big curve to his ceilings,so we bonded them out and formed the shape using cove trowels.used the trowel skimming too,but was finished with skimming trowel.. if you just want a smaller curve, you can use a bit of 4in waste pipe or even a...

    buying plastering tools?

so where do you guys get your plastering tools from? do you buy locally or buy online, and do you prefer to see before you buy? I live about 15 minutes away from Refina,so am lucky to be able check tools over before buying, especially trowels.

quick carbon steel or stainless vote

use stainless for skimming and have a carbon steel trowel for render, hardwall. i just dry the c/steel trowel off and spray wd40 on it when finished and its never gone rusty. have found troweling up easier with c/steel over the years and have noticed more wrist and elbow fatigue with the s/steel...

why do feel the need to wet or pva the breeze blocks? usually just apply hardwall straight on to the blocks and skim same day.there shouldn't be any problems with the hardwall pulling in to quick, not on breeze blocks anyways. is the block work old, dusty? only time i use pva ,is on Durox block...
