Yeah, imagine a nick in the edge would be the end of it and a replacement blade needed.
I'm waiting for Rossi to win the 2016 championship VR46:numberone:
I got a chance to use one of these this week:
Just used it for final trowel-up/polish after everything was flattened. IMHO it is the muts-nuts!!! Effortlessly leaves a silky glass like finish to the plaster - bootifull.
Felt compelled to give it an endorsement (not the nasty kind you get...
I recently used a Refina MM, they seem very sturdy/durable. I'm also in the market for one so thank you kindly for that bit of manufacturing info and the saving to be had on them (y)
I don't understand people who say that they don't like rendering/floating in sands & cement, it's the muts nuts!!! I love floating it up and finishing it off with a sponge, rubs -up a treat imo ;)
There are people out there that do/are, isn't that why Speedskim brought out their pink range of stainless steel bladed range?
I can image that they'd be okay on something like Thistle Mag as this isn't troweled up to a polished finish...
I have to say, this is the way I remember it too, but, that said I'm all for giving the speedskim a try, if it make the job quicker/easier in some way then it has to be a good thing right?! There are a lot of spreads out there who suffer from RSI
Hiya James - I've basically been a pen pusher, been selling large format digital print to the retail industry for the last 3 yrs, previous 6-7yrs I was selling small format digi and litho print.
Hands have gone proper soft but these last 4 wks or so have been a bit of a baptism of fire...

Just noticed that he quotes TPF as his source (I think that's where I first heard about this forum thinking about it) :)
Hmmm, this may well just have to be a case of "suck it and see" (ooh errr missus). Just hate to throw money down the pan you know...
Sorry but, what do you mean by: "I can c past my MT" :D
Cheers,

Firstly - SORRY! I'm guessing I should probably start off by apologising just in case this one has already been done-to-death but I'm new to the forum so please forgive me.
I'd like to invest in a s*p*r*lex trowel and originally liked the look of the Nela but have been told that the build...
Taking it easy at first is defo the way forwards. I have a pretty good idea how you must feel, I've had a much longer lay off and have been back on the trowel again for the last four weeks and my trowel arm shoulder just about seems to be easing up and the aches and pains subsiding.
Best of...
Yeah, sound advise, I've already been looking - the speedskim kit looks like quality and I've already recently tried (and been converted) to plastic for final trowel-ups and polishing on internal skimming plasters (y) It's quite a revelation being used to only using a single trowel from...
Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the site :)
Re "Mix up or coffee first", defo mix up!!! Being a coffee fiend I've generally already brewed a cup at home in my trusty Areopress before setting off...
Hello All!
Just a quick first post from me to say hi as I'm new to TPF and TPF is new to me. I stumbled across it whilst watching plastering vids on YouTube (sad I know)
I'm coming back to plastering having had a long break away from being on the trowel and am amazed/impressed at how the...
