Here's an idea,if the walls are skimmed in the opposite direction to your normal pattern,right to left instead of left to right if that was hard to understand,then the day light should cause less shadowing,it's the same as when skimming a bedroom ceiling always skim across the window not away...

Aren't you worried they could be reading your messages so they know they are false references ,won't some of the people you've worked for give you a reference ,seems a bit unfair .
