    Another Trade

Absolutely I'm not trying to do it full time, was thinking more of painting somebodies bedroom or tiling their bathroom, small jobs like that. I'd leave tiling a floor or hanging paper to the pros, the short course would make me more of a handy man.

Cool, thanks for the advise guys. I might look into a tiling course and see what's available. When I got my Plastering NVQ I was employed by a qualified Plasterer, Can you still apply for the NVQ Level 2 if you're self employed? I don't want to leave where I am to find work with a Tiller, I...

quote]Decorating you will not earn half as much as plastering I guess that but it'd give me extra work and break the week up a bit I probably won't be able to wallpaper but I could slap on some paint. Tiling might be an idea because I could probably use that abroad I actually wanted to do...

    Plastering Abroad

It's not. I've never really had much of an interest in Australia I'm much more interested in doing Europe but I just wanted to see what was out there. I'm screwed then because I have neither haha

Hi, I have been thinking of adding a new trade to my bag of tricks, what do you guy's think compliments Plastering? I was going to do my NVQ Level 3 but now I'm thinking I might be better off putting that money towards a different course and trying to get another Level 2 in something else...

    Plastering Abroad

Would it be the same the other way around, would an Australian need to get an NVQ 3 If he/she already had an AQF 3? I understand not recognising C&G Diplomas and even Level 2 NVQ's but for them to dismiss a Level 3 NVQ is a bit of a joke. That's not good, are their methods better than ours and...

    Plastering Abroad

Out of interest what were the first and second? Do you know what the minimum wage is out there? I thought £5 a pint was too much, that's ridiculous. I do alright and I'm happy enough with what I earn at the moment. I couldn't earn what I do doing anything else (unless I retrained) Couldn't...

    Plastering Abroad

Is the cost of living high out there? Really? That's excellent money especially if they're working for somebody else. That's more than what I'm on at the moment so I'd be more than happy with that. Sounds like a bit of a headache but I could take a few snap shots and give them a story if need...

    Upgrading Level 2 to 3

Fair enough, I'll keep that in mind but I'll check out some other prices before making a decision. Thanks for your help.

    Plastering Abroad

That's fine, I would rather be outside if it's hot anyway What do those guy's do inside then? Yeah I was thinking of just saving up but I would quite like to work abroad for the experience plus I would like to spend a year or two away so I'm going to need to do something. Of the four New...

    Upgrading Level 2 to 3

Hello and thank you, that was very helpful :) So these five are mandatory? I remember I had a choice for my level 2, I believe I picked three out of five. That is very expensive, the college I did my Level 2 with quoted me £500 at the time for the Level 3 I can't imagine the cost has gone up...

    Plastering Abroad

Hi, I'm interested in doing a bit of traveling later in the year or early next year. I have been told that in order to enter Australia, Canada, America or New Zealand I would need to be qualified to Level 3 (I currently hold an NVQ level 2) so I am looking into upgrading sometime soon...

    Upgrading Level 2 to 3

Hi, I got my Level 2 Diploma in plastering and then acquired my NVQ Level 2 onsite a few years ago. I'm currently working as a plasterer but I would like to get the NVQ level 3 as a lot of the jobs advertised seem to be asking for it. So I have a few questions... 1. What is the best way to go...
