I can't wear them cheap trackys, they shrink after 1 wash and with these long legs it's a problem haha
Just bought some Dunlop cordura ones from there for £20 and ther bang on :)
Multi finish has gone down hill over the years and I'm sure they've started putting less in the bags, my 70l bucket couldn't quite get 3 bags in a while ago and now 3 bags go in easily!
I used my Nela s*p*r*lex for the first time today and I'm impressed :)
The handle feels great and it helped get some really bumpy walls nice and flat.
It needs some breaking in before I can finish with it but all trowels do.
Had a few comments about how good it looks aswel , I didn't want to get...
@jeanclaudevangyproc dudley is the heart of the Black Country, I'm like bloody hell he's common when I hear some of your lot talk :risas2:
Love the name by the way, class that is :)
Just callin out to any plasterers in the Black Country, if there's any on here?
Be nice to hear from ya and to see what kinda jobs your all doin?
I know I can count on the Black Country boys for some good banter!
T raa a bit :)
Working on a 200 year old building in Wolverhampton town centre, turning 2 nice size flats into 4 small ones.
Not a straight wall in sight, until I work my magic that is :)
I always cover scrim first regardless of the board type just to make sure, takes about 30 seconds. Makes me laugh when I see plasterers leaving scrim showing
Just come home to find my Nela super flex has been delivered :)
First impressions are... It looks so nice and feels great in my hand, can't wait to use it :)
One thing though I ordered it from gypsum but on the trowel itself it says plasterers 1 stop shop, what's that all about?
A good pva and skim is all that needs mate. No need to take the old plaster off unless it's blown, give the walls a knock in a few places and youl be able to tell if the plasters loose :)
I always take plaster off back to brick 1m high, drill holes along bottom corse of affected area and inject with a sealer, leave to dry for a few days if possible then Sand and cement it back up
I had one of them until about 6 months ago, I threw it off the scaffold into the bucket and the handle came flying back out, could have cried :( good shot though
@zombie I completely agree with you.
It's a personal thing really, I enjoy my job and daft as it seems little things like a nice t-shirt, new tool etc keeps me enthusiastic about my work
Haha I can't do that, I'd have a constant trip hazard but seriously I like to look smart at work, sets me apart from the scruffy looking guys that make plastering look like a rough trade
I don't know what you guys call them but it's the brush I use for corners and edges.
I've had various brushes over the years but they always drag and leave lines.
The other day I bought myself a spekter wood sash paint brush set from tool station and they are amazing, had a right smile on my...
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum, discovered it while looking for trowel reviews the other day.
I've been plastering about 8 years, based in Wolverhampton.
I like what I've seen on here so far so hopefully here to stay :)
