all this talk of asbestos in artex was brought out by asbestos removal firms cos work went slack offshore i went to one job and the bloke had taken the stuff off with an electric plane
not seen things this bad for a long time pretty bad when plasterers are sitting on the net and expected to get by on jobseekers doesn`t cover an afternoon in pub never mind the bookies
sounds right unless the patch is in the corner then do as above but pva the whole ceiling stick in the patch put some skim in it and start skiming opp corner and follow as above price sounds about right unless a lot of stuff to cover
mind and leave a vent somewhere for damp takes a while to come through but if your doing private work remember they all have family and friends and in a small place your name can be sh*t in no time
i prefer 2 coats but worked with a few old boys years ago in beguim they all only one coated got used to it quicker per metre but you need to go like to get it spot on
take them off same as ceiling roses you wont learn to be a plasterer online go work for nothing with a plasterer for a few months invaluable i was lucky my granddad was a plasterer started when i was ten with him at weeekends set me for life
put a bit of cement in your water then mix your bonding in it goes off pretty fast then when your skim goes on you won`t get air bubbles other tip is put a bit of newspaper on it causes suction gets rid of the bubbles main thing dont panic comes to it just skim it again not like it`s a big gable end
keep it pretty flat keep your leading edge clean and don`t use to much water a couple of months with a plasterer you can pick this stuff up best thing you`ll ever do
throw a handfull of cement in your water then mix your bonding in dont pva the walls get the bonding on smartish will go off pretty fast ready to skim in half an hour or so
