    Plastering over artex

Plastering/skimming on Artex is all about timing, i use to detest going over Artex when Multi first come out around 20 years back and nothing worse than when you keep trowling up and feel your not getting anywhere and your still trowling when it's changing colour, call me sad but i actually...

    Thistle UniFinish

    Trowel handle

Bring back the old wooden handles, so much better than all that rubber stuff, Hawks as well.

For The Attention Of British Gypsum ...

My local B&q is a mess with split Multi bags everyday, but as stated you have to twist them as their stuck with a lttle bit of glue, it you lift them then they tear, apart from that the actual Multi itself is lovely to use of late so well done BG.

speed skim / eze spat, whats the verdict

I got one last week and have used it a couple of times, i've read the many threads on here re the speedskim and i'll have to give it a thumbs up, i just use it after i've applied my 2nd coat once, it's a lot quicker than a first trowel for sure, it's only really suitable on big areas, anything...

    Stilts vs boards

Always have used boards myself, i do mainly domestic which involves covering carpets with dust sheets, can imagine it would be very dangerous working on Stilts and dust sheets.

    render over dashing

I've never had a problem rendering straight onto dashing as long as it's solid, you can't get a better key going onto stone.

White Soft wash Stockists in Essex/East London

Building sand always liable to crack more, I know of some spreads who put a couple shovels of sharp in with Building/pit sand, I've always stuck with Soft wash, harder to use but goes a lot stronger. Leighton Buzzard goes solid on the wall but I've always found its a fecker to use.

White Soft wash Stockists in Essex/East London

Mainly do inside work as it's what i prefer but have done loads of Rendering jobs before in my time but cos you can never rely on weather mainly stick to interior, got a small rendering job come up and the customer wants the old rustic look(flat render that looks white) i know to use Snowcrete...

    exterior rendering

Deffinetly mate, leave the spounging as long as possible, and as warriorupnorth says, try not to get on it early and move it about too much when rubbing up.
  19. D

    exterior rendering

We tend to Rule/travis the 2nd Coat before we rub up, too many people just trowel it on now, quick rub over and spounge for quickness, it's obvious the sunlight will show the humps and bumps then.

I've earnt decent money in the past, been in the the game 28 years now, Domestic work in January and February i'd say are the worst two months, admittedly i'm use to getting the £150 a day but at the moment when bills need to be payed you tend to notice if you keep asking for that rate you'll...

Trade Point at B&Q lol, My local B&Q now have all the Builders white vans parking at the main entrance, it's chaos..! Putting beads up.

Which then if both frame and wall are out you then have to decide what to do, generally i split it. I've always been taught side beads first.

    Putting beads up.

So for those that put the head beads up first supposing the window is out of level, do you run your side beads level with the window or with the wall? If the way your saying and the window frame which sometimes happens is out of level your side beads may well not meet up with your head bead...

Can't see you needing one with Domestic work, i've been in the game 25 years and learnt of the old man who's still working with me, 90% our work come from recommendations, i very much doubt even in 2020 my customers are going to ask me if i've got an NVQ, i stilll advertise in the local rag and...

spraying multi finish demo with pft ritmo

I agree, complete waste of time, obviously it was one coat in which took four or five people where one person on their own would/should do it in the same time without the machine.
