    SAS silicone monocouche

Had same problem in winter with monocouche xf, used to slide off basecoat that was cured, best way we found was sprayed onto a green basecoat, and not ruled too much.

    Got it

im a bit skeptical about microgoby , always preferred to do a scratch as simps says with highbond, i know people swear by it and ive seen some top jobs done using it, but i just believe some backgrounds need a scratchcoat!
  14. merlin

    Got it

he is right tho, have used gyprime on celcons and sprayed with cpi . it was not nice had a job to rule it ,it was sliding about and sagging ,didnt rub up till next day, and no suction when we skimmed it either!
  15. merlin

    Got it

when simps says "a quick splatter coat all over the room" he actually means the walls and not the floor , ceiling ,doors and windows although sometimes i do wonder!
  16. merlin

    Spraying mono

looks like micro gobetis on old brickwork mate

  18. merlin

    Monocouche accelerant

you can put a water metre between main water hose and barrel and set for 100 litres , then add 2 litres of ibovit every time your barrels full.
  19. merlin

    Weber render gone wrong

could do a mono texture over it , would be cheaper
  20. merlin

    Kingspan K5 external insulation board

if the exsisting render was uneven it should have been straightened first before fixing boards , you defo need fixings in k5 as any render manufacturer you speak to dont trust the tissue paper on them for just adhesive, parex also say to microgobetis before base coat to kill any suction as there...

  30. merlin

    telling lime products

havnt used unilit 20 mate so dont know bout primer, the last coat doesnt need to be rubbed up ready for top coat but the neater it is the easier the top coat goes on!
  31. merlin

    telling lime products

the unilit topcoat we used was two coat wet on wet like skimming and rubbed up with poly float , nice gear!
  32. merlin

    telling lime products

have used a unilit product before but was for lightweight blocks not cob, it was good gear, just a base coat and thin coloured top coat ,sponged up , bloody expensive tho
  33. merlin

    pump test

steve your machine already has two filters another one isnt going to make a great deal of difference , if you put really fine mesh filter on as well the water pump is going to struggle to pull water through! the barrel and hose set up youve got is ideal for your machine just get used to cleaning...

  36. merlin

    pump test

you only need a small leak on your pressure flange where the r&s sits or on the bottom of the mixing zone where r&s sits and you wont get consistant readings , ive been doing pump tests on a 5m hose recently and finding it better!
  37. merlin

    Mono onto cement board ??

airbourne, parex say you can dab the gtec external p/board with maite, then just a mesh coat fully with maite ,scratched to take gf!

  47. merlin

    Eifs

  48. merlin

    Cross grain float

not used anymore mate ,used to use one lime plastering ,use them the same as poly floats to flatten plaster ,finish is a "scrubbed " or "scoured" surface flat ready to take next coat , need to keep them wet so they dont dry out and crack!
