i agree malc nothing but agro from yello pages normally want the job done for less than the plaster costs

i know a plasterer in colchester who leaves it perfect no marks and he first coats flattens in perfect fills all misses with extra gear then lets it dry a bit then top coats and then trowels it till it rock hard looks stunning

i used the contour board on a egg shaped building [only walls] and double boarded it to get thickness one coat portrait one coat landscape

ring a plastering firm tell them the truth how long you been doing it etc work on site for a couple of years and you will no about how much a meter you will learn a lot

started a refurb job today and was unibonding a ceiling it was very flexable when i pulled a bit down to see what was going on. someone had put hardboard over lath and plaster and skimmed the rough side then it had been reskimmed ? the weight of the plaster was making the hardboard sag has...

i did one years ago opened windows sealed room went in loft kicked it down next thing i new fire brigade turned up someone rang them thought the house was on fire avoid them at all costs now i over board or try to talk them in to it at all costs

done it loads on site never had a problem always put secondary fixings in the edges

iv seen plasterers use the large flexible tubs. and get 3 bags in there and scoop it out with a saucepan never seen anyone knock up 4 bags at once

i tried lots types but for my makita now. i always use british gypsum best iv used in a makita.

i wear braces coz a belt and a tool belt is not good. no belt and a tool belt take the tool belt off trousers on the floor. not good ether braces best buy ever

i do a few conservatories a year summer is not good for them

i always board much better job
