If he wants to keep with the dwelling tell him he can't have underfloor heating, only an open fire! We laid a lime screed a couple of years ago on king span to the clients specification it was a nightmare, looked good just never really went hard enough, I'd never attempt one again!
Sorry I should have written the entire process I went through it was the mark 2 I used! But the walls were very porous, so maybe that was the problem. As for not describing the process I thought this was a plasterers forum, thought it might be insulting to some
No I just thought I'd make up a mindless comment for the sake of it! When you've used it on a reskim & 4 days later scraped it off as half of it has failed, I think I'm entitled to my opinion
If you've got any sign of damp, don't use multi for the beads, they'll start to rust within six months, I've done loads of damp jobs where the main problem is beads stuck on with multi
Just been given some catnic Orange tape to try, ******* rubbish not only does it fray, but being a bit thicker the frayey edge sticks down. Had to use three coats to cover the crap
I've used one coat on lime loads of times, just make sure you don't leave the lime to long before you skim it, slightly dampening the surface will help
Think the futures here mate I've can't find a spread who can float & set, they seem to think they've made it when they can skim board, not to mention they want more a day than I charge!
I do & as tony says wouldn't be without it, but have been on several sites that won't allow them because of the noise, even though the wood butchers are using paslode nail guns
I know it's only my opinion, but you just as well piss in the holes! Injections just a waste of time and money, the damp proofing company will only blame the plasterer if it fails
I bet the fitters spent the entire time saying how good they were my parents had the same, I can't look at there's it looks like a 5 year old did most of it
After several emails from Danny(and the chance of possible free stuff)thought I'd best say hello, just to add I've been plastering for 20 years, and the Neal s*p*r*lex is the only trowel you can actually use straight from the box. Well worth the money!
