Plasterers, fixers and dryliners wanted North West

What is it and what you payin pal
  19. C

    SBR primer

First of all never use sbr neat as it could peel off at a minimum mix it 50/50. Sbr doesnt re emulsify like pva wich means when you wet it goes back to a liquid which is why its used externally. if the sbr dries before you start to skim theres not much for the skimming to grab wereas with pva it...

    K rend labour price

Just bang it on and rub it up. Dont bother with krend tough its **** use weber it goes on and rubs up easier. Apply in 1thick coat so you dont get halos and keep your edges wet so you dont get any joint lines

    Site work.

It dont matter if you do site or domestic work as long as you make your £400 a day your laughin
  32. C

    Site work.

Its unfortunate that site plastering has been split up into boarders dabbers skimmers and renderers. i agree that you need to be able to cover all aspects to be a good domestic plasterer and i also said most domestic plasterers cant cut it. There are alot of chancers within the domestic circuit...

    Site work.

No they cant but theyre not plasterers they just"skimmers"
  34. C

    Site work.

Your finish has to be spot on on site otherwise you wont get paid, alot of domestic plasterers do domestics because they cant cut it on site. I would rather work for a firm/site than the public any day.Start at 8 finish 3-4 You know where you stand from day 1. With public you dont know who your...

    tried venetian for first time

Yes same here pal if im doin any decorative plastering now i use standard knauf finish with pigment even used easyfil. Add kiln dried sand for a more grainy marmarino effect then seal and wax. I can achieve better finishes this way

  40. C

    tried venetian for first time

Ok I read the web page and there is no statement saying that the product is waterproof, what it actually says is "Lime plasters perform extremely well in wet climates by simply allowing any water that is absorbed into the plaster to quickly evaporate and exit the structure." This is far from...

He wont want to see cornice or floor screeding as its not mandatory in the NVQ, however it can be an optional extra. Re training

Well done pal getting your card but unfortunatley it wont get you a job as a site manager, this is just a health and safety card like the cscs card, you also need an NVQ in construction management to even be considered for a role as a site manager, i suggest you contact your local college and...
