Total bollox, putting up screeds means you don’t back yourself to do the job and when you do put up screeds it’s just basically infilling which any spastic can do
There’s a case for both methods in my opinion, been on some listed buildings where walls were so bad if you put screeds up you’d end up spending days dubbing out!
Been offered some dabbing mate but to be honest I’m too slow at it to make a wage and render wise I’ve only done sand and cement or sand and lime, need to get back ASAP as my livers taking a right kicking
I work on sites on price mate and I’m sat at home, phoned all my contacts and they’re all saying everything is a few weeks away from kicking off, spoke to at least half a dozen lads in the same boat.
Totally right mate, bloke I know in Birmingham who owns a big firm gets sent on skiing holidays, golf weekends abroad the lot all paid for by suppliers
I’ve heard a rumour from an agent that bg are trying to get all the big firms under one umbrella and then bg themselves are the only tender for jobs then they’ll pass the job onto whichever firm is most local, apparently to try to stop undercutting prices, no idea if there’s any truth in it.
