i always plastering sand. add lime top coat and one sharp to a gauge and waterproofer. standard mix. it's the colour that i'm intrigued about. thought it was building sand but i was told not to use too many impurities in it for render. white cement sounds worth a try. thanks for posts.

i bought a couple of rhino (ceramic) heaters. £75 each i think. good buy in my opinion but like most things depends on how how much you want to spend. might be worth a look though. ;)

evening all. had to finish a s+c render job this morning. last chance before the big freeze sets in. my questions is can you put too much lime in your top coat. usually put one good shovel to a gauage (mini belle mixer load). but didn't want it to hang around all day for it so upped it to two...
try taking a grinder to the edges of a new corner trowel and round them off a bit. towel wears in a bit quicker.(don't go crazy with grinder couple of passes shold do it.) then a little rub with sand paper. hope it helps.
