hi guys
I've done my apprenticeship and served the last 5 years on the books which is salary based. Someone has asked me to skim a room for them 12ftx14ft walls and ceilings. Already been plasterboarded. How much would you guys charge? I'm in south east London if that helps local prices
Cheers
hi guys
Just wondering what trowels/tools people use for a set. At the moment I'm laying on with MT, flatten with speedskim, 2nd coat MT then final 2 trowels with an ox ultra flex (upgraded from a 14" nela s*p*r*lex to 16" ox) but I've recently been told to get a plaziflex to use after second...
Hi guys
The work radio i had been using has unfortunately died and is no longer being sold. It was a DAB one from Aldi looked like dewalt. Anyway does anyone know of any good value DAB radios that aren't too expensive? Cheers
Hi guys.
Just out of curiosity wondering how much different councils pay their plasterers around the country. I've heard good and bad things just wondered if it's consistent
hi guys. I ordered a speedskim set from p1ss and one has arrived with a broken blade already. Could someone tag Ryan in this as I can't get through on the number provided.
Thanks
Hi guys.
What are the putz spatulas like for skimming? I saw a video of someone using a refina one and looks a great tool wondering if puts are as good? Also do they need a lot of breaking in?
Cheers
Sorry if I'm too late but try this site https://drywalltoolsdirect.co.uk. They sell Marshall town and Refina and all of the trowels are 25% off with the code 'DWT25'
Not sure if I'm allowed to advertise like this but I've just got myself some great bargains. There's a website called drywall tools which have 25% off all plastering tools. Including Refina mixers. Marshall town trowels and Refina s*p*r*lex.
Also Ox gorilla buckets for 2/3£
Always love a bargain!
lets see the state of the back of your vans. Everyone works different. Met spreads with spotless vans and others with "organised mess"
Best one wins a left handed screw driver:numberone:
They're made by spear and Jackson now and the quality of them now is shocking. You can pick one up on eBay about £18 but do yourself a favour and get down the pub instead
@Danny ok mate cheers for replies. You had a go with the sf finishing one? Doesnt seem to be much info on them at all, in theory sound great but no reputation worries me haha
after many an argument with myself over whether to get a speedskim or not I had a go with one yesterday and fell completely in love. Where is the best place to buy one for both good value and most recent version. I'm after the 600mm one.
Cheers guys
I do strictly domestic work so is it worth getting s*p*r*lex and speedskims? I never have to throw 50m+ on at once. How are they for patching or smaller areas?
Morning guys.
I'm thinking of getting s*p*r*lex but people always talk about it being hard to work the timings. At what stage should you use it? A step by step would be appreciated
Cheers,
Sonny
@roryston @zombie how long would you leave the first coat of bonding and finish before putting on 2nd coat? Same as multi or do you need to leave it longer to pull in?
Hi guys
Ive been using this site for a couple weeks now and just realised I've never properly introduced myself. My names Sonny and I'm 23 working in South East. I've only been plastering properly for 3 years so I might not be the most experienced but I enjoy what I do. Some good advise on...
I personally prefer board finish but rarely get to use it as my employer supplies multi. For me I found that board finish will take a bit longer to start going off but once it does start it goes quickly. But I never use water on it. Just lick the trowel with a brush otherwise you get a dirty finish
