I've finally done it
ive I've taken a job with a local social housing company
32k a year
company van....
dealing with mad customers who want something for nothing has killed me,
keeping my my regulars and little jobs for weekends!!
Going to college to do do plumbing in sept so I'll have plastering, bricklaying & plumbing under my belt, like been said before everyone a plasterer these days
Just had phone call off the director off trade force(Bristol)
should be getting my money soon and a employer of trade force getting their ass kicked!!!
Got a new shape partner, tool tube and ladders on roof rack and I'm good to go, can fit 6 x 3 boards in easy but just get my brother to drop off any 8 x 4's if need be
As title stats
done a couple of days work for a agency (trade force) and still ain't paid me,
got the job signed off by the clients and time sheet signed and still nothing
What options I got to get my money??
cheers in advance
the h/s/l is about 4 days work mate trust me (hell of a mess) plus the two artex ceilings need scrapping back as sit 15-20mm deep so need labourer in!!
Could of mate, but day rate was safer option as it was a lot of hidden problems and untill I started stripping back I didn't know what I was up against
Main point of this thread is other trades decorators/plumbers knocking our trade down.....
90% of jobs I quote I get it's just the other 10% who knows someone or work as another trade trying to knock us down
thats what boils my blood mate
So in the other thread (3 gauges a day) the lads are saying between £400 - £500 for a room and you think £200 for a 10-11m2 artex ceiling is dear??
Each to their own I suppose
Just had a text
"hi mate I've been passed your number by a friend you done work for.
ive got a plasterer in at the mo but he ain't to confident about plastering around windows and ceilings.
can you come give me a price please??
i swear I ain't got the energy did these people and it ain't...
Right here goes!!
had 3 jobs to price up today all a waste of time!!
job 1!!
after ringing me Friday we arranged for me to go see the job today @ 10:30am so rings the guy before leaving as it's 17 miles away, he answers, so make my down there....... Knock the door 3 times....no answer......so...
Finished with site work!!
turned up monad to dot & dab 3 walls with a skim finish only to argue with the foreman about who getting materials (me or client) anyway after 3 hours of phone calls and bitching they end up getting me materials, so it's 11am...... Area manager turns up and starts...
Even tho in my opinion plastering is one of the hardest trades plumbers, chippys and brickies say they can plaster for a fraction of the price!!
hence why I'm going back to college in sept to do plumbing!!
