    Cheap alternative to mixing drill

Of course it would.... It'll probably take a bit longer than an expensive mixing drill but it'll surely mix a couple of half buckets!

    Nela s*p*r*lex Review

I also do this... It finishes off the angles nicely after all the troweling is done. nice videos by the way !!!

    Catching dash

+1 for these trays, they can be bought in B&Q (I don't work for them :p ) for £8 each. I find these good cause the chips can be poured into your bucket easily from them .

    Stanley bag

On the subject of Stanley, they do a good pair of boots in B&Q too and they're only £29!

What's the difference between these and the standard Nela trowels.... Besides the obvious of being narrower ?

NELA s*p*r*lex Trowels - Reviews Required

I have to agree with this..... I tried a 16" once and just couldn't get to grips with it at all.. I feel I can get more power and a better finish from a 14" but every man to his own and all that!

NELA s*p*r*lex Trowels - Reviews Required

Thanks Jace,I've been using Marshalltown all my life and had never heard of any other trowel until I joined this forum. The Refina seems to be popping up quite a bit so I'm really interested in trying one of those!

NELA s*p*r*lex Trowels - Reviews Required

Is there a reason for the 4.3" width? I use a 14x4 Marshalltpwn and I'm just wondering if there's much difference handling wise in the widths? I can't imagine there is with it being just a quarter of an inch

    Other spreads working methods

I also go through two buckets of water per hit, I always change it after the first trowel and then that water does me until I've given the next hit the first trowel too :)

Plasterers 1 Stop Shop - New Trowels - Reviewers required

They look like a nice trowel but I could never get used to a trowel that wide for skimming, always used a 14x4 MT non stainless steel as I find the metal in the stainless steel trowels too hard and not great for "breaking in"

    Poor standard of funded work

I have to agree that there's so much poor workmanship being done regarding this! i was doing this for a while but had to stop cause of bad rates....one contractor we worked for had fellow bringing in gangs of Eastern Europeans every week doing this.... Some of them had never worked on sites...

    B and q

I always thought it was average 3 boards per bag too!
