It did crack on the walls. The joint is the weakest point so if it was going to crack it would be there.

@zombie. When all this started a few weeks ago I wasn't sure on the day why the multi wasn't going off as usual. I thought I was just having an off day. I've seen the kitchen fitter I did the job for that day since and he said there where a few strange cracks in the work. Re skimmed walls no...

    sealing a ceiling

Blue grit controls the suction for me fine. The green plasprime doesn't in my experience. Artex sealer is your best bet. Or get another spread to help you

    2.4m scaff board!!!

Mines 2 metres long made out of 8x2. Made to my height my backs been fine ever since. The metal hop ups where always too high for me and I can pull out much further on mine. It's great for coving too

    Bad multifinsh

I had it just over a week ago. The new bags with the try our new uni finish are crap. The merchants brought out a second pallet without it on. I've been taking it from there all week and it's been fine. They've definitely done something to it. We're the ones who know when it's not rite not bg

    something not right

Bought the same stuff for today as I only had a bathroom to do. And it sat wet for ages. I think they're tampering with it again at bg

    something not right

Had a similar thing today. It started browning up in places before it should have really. But it was not gone off. It was multi with the little try our new tested uni finish badge on.

    135mm Cornice

My gyproc mitre block says on the side it's not suitable for 135mm but I've used it and it's bang on to be honest.

I do a fare bit for a company that handles insurance work. They sent me to a job yesterday. Only 23m2 of internal rendering. I told them the renderings all done il go back in Tuesday and skim it. She said our other plasterer is going to skim it because he can't do rendering we need you somewhere...

Well you burst that bubble didn't you. Lol obviously I'm not there so don't know all the ins and outs. They seem to like it so good for them. How do you pva??

I was thinking more like if you've got a large room to do in 2 sets. Can you pva the whole room just once in the morning and it's ok not to pva again for the second set?
  20. Cranny77

    How do you pva??

With the new easy view pva the certainly won't miss any bits [emoji12]
  21. Cranny77

    How do you pva??

I hear you and agree about the high suction completely. I didn't want to give it a try and have a slow trail skim blowing off. Kitchens are always treat with 3-4 different suctions on the walls. So only go on it dry if it's had 2 coats?
  22. Cranny77

    How do you pva??

Over the years I've worked with different people and you find we all do the same thing just slightly differently. I've always pva'd waited until it's tacky then skimmed. But I've met blokes you just pva everything in the morning let it go off while they set up then skim. Is this common? Ideally...

My mates been in Christchurch for over a year @Rigsby. They had the earthquake 3 years ago and it's created a lot of work 20 years minimum. He said within reason you can name your price. 41. Cranny77

    There is always first time!

I've had a few jobs where blokes have stuck beads with multi dry wall bonding. All the beads rust out quickly. Naughty boys. There's an area in Peterborough where you usually see Asians telling Eastern Europeans how to do building work. Well he's only gone and skimmed his garden wall!!! It's...

My final review on the s*p*r*lex

I don't do anything different with it regarding timings. It's a lovely trowel I just can't use it for 2nd and final trowel on every gauge I do. If it's board work or the job is ok for spats it's great. But most of the time it only gets used for a dry trowel as it leaves a nice finish with the...

    Delivered or mixed?

How much is it? Say if you wanted 2 cubic tonne? Surely the longer they wait the more it costs. I've heard they can adjust the mix to what you want?
  44. Cranny77

  47. Cranny77

    Bosch

I've paid £320 all in if I have it for 10 years I can live with that. I got the old 11e Bosch off a builder who never used it for £200 and just sold it for £120. So I can't grumble. Hector I know what you mean. Now when I get a run of jobs where they all seem to be upstairs il have one less...
