yeah i know refina do good mixers,, but intend to leave it in the van overnight, and dont think id sleep at night, if i left it in the van, so thats why i wanted a cheapish mixer.. i bring quite alot in at the minute and that does my head in. thanks

the top coat is about 12mm but the wall was still quite damp as i dubbed the wall out before i scratched it.. didnt use any admitures, ill probably leave the scratch dry out next time...

in the middle of rendering a wall at my nan's ,, i layed the top coat on 1.30 this after noon the bottom 4 inches is still sagging, i used a piece of wood across the bottom intsead of bellcast, will i still have this problem if i use a metal or plastic bead,, what do i do to stop this happening...

hello,, been skimming for about 4 years now and ive starting to dabble in a bit of rendering and ive a few questions to ask the experts,, ive done a few small brezze block walls, flat and tyrolen so far... do i need to use admixture,, or can i use hydrated lime as plastersizer.. does every1...

i cant see how damp is coming through that wall. it looks sounds and is properly decorated.. when its all finished they will probably put all the furniture up against the walls, and ring u back up saying the damp is back and all it was is condesation...

in the book it say's to use sbr on low suction backgrounds (glased red bricks),,, unless the mortor has been raked out to 10mm. and on re-renders.

i think your missing the point here... to get a nvq 11 u have 2 be working with in the trade, how are u gona do that if u cant get on site,,, u can do a ICA qulification in night school but it dont mean jack. also just rang construction skills and they said, its up to the site weather they let...

so after all the qulified plasters are retired or dead... who will do the plastering on site????? no 1 also to achive an nvq ll in plastering,, you have to be working in the trade, how are u gona do that if your not aloud on site.

i was using that as an example... ''my friend'' i not saying there's only 1 person who does the nvq's im saying all there intrested in is your ££££££££... and if a certain amount of people who arnt qualified arnt aloud on site how are they gona teach people.

also.... spunky will still be able to get on site,, but will have to work, supervised by some1 who is NVQ level 3 Qualified...untill he pay's the £600 2 get the guy out, who's is acctually a chippy,(who dosnt give a f@@k) to say yep he can plaster, and he get his card, its that simple flynnyman.

at the end of the day flynnyman..... why do u care about what colour card every1 else has got, as long as u got ur GOLD CARD.... who cares. i asked spunky the question because im curious to why hes holding back so much.. i dont work on site so i dont know what the crack is.

i was thinking about building a false wall, but the wall at the back has a radiator,, so i just skimmed it

yeah...... i double mine up,,, also have a few heavy duty sheets that dont need doubling up... they also make dust sheet with a polythene back now, probably wont last ten mintues.

any1 else get jobs like this....... a right pain in the arse. also have a look at my dust sheets,,,, gona have fun cleaning them

yeah i have the same problem.... i usually put dust sheets down, then put tarps over the top,,, and use the tarps on about a 6-8 jobs then bin them, i havnt gone as far as putting my dust sheets through the washer/dryer yet, but they do need cleaning, i just flick all the crap off my sheets...

yeah.... ive been ripped off,, sold a wii on ebay and the people said they wanted to pick it up,,so they did and we have no proof off address because the people who picked it up hacked in to some1's account who lived in essex... i was livid at the time, u live and learn.

when rendering the inside of the chimney breast... is there anything i need to do,, as it gets really really hot. also do u need to pva S&C if i use plastesizer.

nisus... when using gripfill to stick boards to ceilings how many blobs do u use per board. cheers mate

i cut a very small bit of corners of with a junior hack saw... filed them round. and bent the wings in slightly. also do u lads use corner trowels along wet on finished corners, when finishing off.

being quite new to plastering, ive never used browning, and dont really know what situation to use it in either. ive look on the BG website and it dosnt explain it in a laguage i understand, so maye be 1 of u lads can,, cheers.

they've opened a new 99p shop were woolworths used to b, near me...... and they have loads of everbuild pinkgrip, so i bought the whole shelf £28,,, i can do a few ceilings with that.

any1 here ever put fibers in their pva or wba before skimming. ive done it in the past. weather it works is another question. what do u reckon.
