Get it tested .. So you kno if it's positive or not..
Can't believe how many have said just rip it down.... Bad practice
Ok sayin yea so it it will be years before it shows blah blah blah you gonna tell that to the young kids that may be in the house when there in there 20's...
Do it the...
In my opinion speedskim are great... I can't compare to Eze spat as I hear they are on par.. Everyone has there own opinion.. So I am having mine.!!!
I have the 300,600 and 1200 st blades .. All of which are great for use on multi, bonding, browning, dri coat.. ( don't use hard wall )
I also...
Not to forget all tps protec u will need when pulling that down..!! And protecting room to start with..
Like others have said.. I would have thought u was cheap yourself IMO..
But what they quoted is a f*****g joke..
Boils my piss..!!!! Cos it happens all the time!!! No matter what job we all...
That would be the method I would do.. Also wud b tempted to put helibars in the bed joints every 2 course of blocks n resin in...
Prob best though to advise a structural engineer to cover yourself or inform customer so it don't come back on u.
Firstly I'd say way too cheap on price for whatever reason..
Sounds like u done method ok but prob needed more scraping off..
Did u get a test on artex..??
I use mine on domestic properties all time mate.. Not the case at all..
Try the 600 to start with. The 1200 is a bit big on ceilings etc like u say if it is not flat but the 600 works ok.
Have to say though... Used my NELA s*p*r*lex for first time today.. Cracking bit of kit that is..!!
You don't have to flatten it quicker but if you put loads on u flatten first coat a lot quicker to get second on. It's not a case of usin it cos ur struggling with timings if anything your on top of it a lot faster.. Instead of towing your ******** off trying to catch up with yourself..!!!
I...
I'd speak to them mate as Scunthorpe depot said u order by the bag.. Big confirmed this as well when I spoke to them.. It just gets ordered alongside t.p's main plaster order
Stipple artex, and boards warped and you have a coving line to meet to.....!! If I were you I wud get the coving down at least if not full ceiling!!! 28m2 is managable but u have to remember you are on ur own. And most likely will take alot of gear to cover it.!!! Are you going loose the coving...
I have gone to loads of jobs where other plasterers have just priced to rip all artex down n re board. . I have gone round. Said what I have n there in shock that no one elae has said anything like that. . First thing they think of is there health.
We did one that house was built in 02... problem bein the majority think nahhhh its ok its past 80's.. well no it has still being found in ceilings alot earlier than that. !!!! I also had a problem with asbestos companies not doing samples properly. They just scaped surface.. but have had 2...
I always make people aware of the risks.. I give them the options of getting it tested. Or just over skimming existing but not scraping. Age of the house does not matter as I have had ceiling found positive in properties in 2002/2005... health and safety is a big thing for me so always give...
Think it says it all if he says it needs sanding down..!!!
I spent over 6 uears doing insurance repair work..
Best way ( in my opionion ) is to remove all damaged plasterboard.. re dot bringing it flush with original surface. . Tape joints n full skim to areas!!!!
The only best option if you...
Hack off the plaster yo expose the crack.. if its just blown plaster due to peril.. bond n skim.. if the brickwork/blockwork is cracked. Rake out the crack fill with a epoxy resin. And mechanically fix eml n bond up n skim.. pretty much the same as johniosaif said..!! Thumbs up
Try to get on them both at same time.. do your calf straps first.. this will stabilise your legs.. then do your toe straps..
To get off them do the exact reverse.
Toe straps, then calf straps. U will b alot more stable whilst locking yourself in..!!!
