Much is for a bag of skim with yous? we only work with carlite finish over here Northern Ireland and its £8 a bag now which is far to dear. thinking of looking in to buying a pallet and getting it shipped ove,r prob work out cheaper. :-\

Have a days patching in an old house to do, its a hallway where the steamer took off some patches of skim back to the lime render. i was just going to pva and skim, do you see any problems with this, or suggest any other ways to go about this. cheers!

Things are very queit at the minute for me so everyday im looking up the job market on line seeing if any plasterers jobs going . one came up today some c##t offering £7 an hour for an 8 to 5 must be experienced plasterer. i know things are bad but this f##ker is taking the biscuit. >:(

How do the most of you finish your rendering? i was always taught to float up then sponge never had much trouble with this but recently watching a guy on the tv giving it a floating then a run with the finishing trowel to give a sheen look have to say it looked good! anybody else use this method?

Is anyone finding the skim tearing? Iv been finding it hard to get a good finish this llast while the skim keeps tearing on my thrid trowel or so its starting to drive me mad >:(Im thinking of trying something different i usually use carlite finish.
