    Ritmo Tripping

Complete novice on machines If it's worth anything, my second hand machine Popped the workshop trip switch every time, only when I turned the machine off. When I plugged it into the other bank, which has been upgraded it was fine.

Hi chaps Hoping to get your expert advice on this problem I have. I've just bought a second hand ritmo, I think it's A powercoat or a M. Doesn't say on the machine so I'm not 100%. The machine is in excellent condition and it's been well looked after. The machine has twice stopped working...

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

I know your right buddy. I'm gonna do some more tests tomorrow morning with the hose pipe, then decide to either seal it all up somehow. or cut the ceiling away and get a better view.

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

I know what your saying, really don't want to cut ceilings away unless I 100% need to. I have knocked a brick out above the steel on the side return and seen water pixxing through a mortar joint. what do I need to know about rendaid.?

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Only leaks when it's heavy rain though matey. Waste pipes in the bathroom but exit to the left And ceiling is dry that side.

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

No me neither I've had a roofer check it out 4/5 times So far found nothing on the roofs. Felt is Pretty dry underneath tiles. I will try to video the water coming into the cavity above the steel tomorrow and post it on here. Cheers

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Yes the roof joist overhang enough, was hits the gutter fine from both roofs. I've tried a few different angles of spaying, mainly upwards so it runs down the roof/brick As it would naturally by rain fall. The bricks underneath both soffits are pretty dry.

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

the two holes you can see are where he had his plumb line.. I've since filled those two, but there's quite a few smaller ones. The pitch roof is dry underneath, I've had tiles off. It's also well sealed under the bedroom window. Pretty sure it mortar on blocks. I'll try to video the leak...

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Many Thanks for that. Yes trays have been fitted, though I'm now thinking have they been done correctly above the steel that's carrying the side return wall for the bathroom.
  33. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Not sure what you mean? Tray over the steel?
  34. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

I can't get the builder back as we had a few disagreements on the job. The final straw, he asked for the full money remaining for the job way before the job was complete. Obviously I refused. Disappointed as he came recommended by the guy who did the plans for me.
  35. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

I agree it shouldn't be leaking in through the new block work. But it is leaking into the cavity And running down on to the top of the steel then finding its way inside.
  36. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

    couldn't agree more
  37. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

It may not be every joint impossible to tell, the right hand side of the bathroom window down the corner of the side return, that's seems to be the worst area. And certainly the wettest when it rains. the doors and window appear to be ok. It is coming in higher up than the door. Like I said...
  38. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

The foam was temporary on the boards that were blocking up the opening before the bi folds were installed.. I knocked a brick out yesterday above the steel beams, with use of the hose pipe i could see water pxxxing in. Obviously getting into cavity then spreading across beams and dripping in.

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

I would possibly have done mono if I could have waited until spring, but I've got to seal up the extension now to stop the water coming through the mortar. I'm in the north east and pretty close to the sea
  42. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Cheers deri Is sbr in the mix a good enough waterproofer?
  43. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Main reason I'd not planned to do it now is that I had been told by a few builders etc not to do it until spring. Second reason is cost, I'm trying to get the inside Finished before Christmas.
  44. evs04

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Cheers malc Do what you suggested now? rather than scratch now? not sure if your suggesting to do mono rather than scratch then colour. Thanks

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Mortar joints leaking in on new extension

Hi I'm just after a little advice before I jump in two footed. On my new extension we have water leaking in due to the mortar joints in the block work. Obviously they could have been done better, but the builder knew we were getting it rendered so I guess he didn't tidy all the joints up...
