Good idea, but don't know anyone using one. Maybe hiring one first for a week or so to see how I get on. Been mentioning machines to other plasterers on site and most seem to screw their face up at the thought of one, maybe change is too much for some people.
Hi Rigsby, a bit off topic just realised you live near me and our lasses shop middlewood road. Called Hair Flair(Hair/beauty/reflexology/ massage. just up from asda. Call in sometime for a hair cut or a back massage.
Just mention you know me from tpf (sam) they'll sort you out:)
Used the speedskim today it was very good considering my first time using mp finish.
it worked very well and saved time and effort, which I like a lot.
I was going to say, I don't think I've ever put on as much before without strugling, I could have put more on, but with it been my first time with mp finish I turned around and thought I better stop now:)
Yeah it's mp finish and I love it. It's strange, like been said it just keeps on spreading. feels thick in the bucket and on the spot board but then it spreads like butter, weird. Was using ss trowel to put on,speedskim to flatten then the refina plastic trowel with plenty of water to finish...
The other set of spreads or giving it a second coat, I don't want to do that if I can get away with it, elbows or knackerd already. Thinking about a machine to be honest, not just for the extra m2, but for saving the joints.
I think it's a finish plaster just like multi and board finish.
Will know tomorrow When I see the bags, I'm just going off what the other spread has told me.
Finally got to use it yesterday on a bathroom ceiling which needed straightening out it was like the North Sea. Filled it out with the trowel flattened it out with the 1200 speedskim it made the job easy as. Very happy with it so far.
Cheers bud. But as per usual no work for weeks then four jobs come at once. I've got a start on Monday at Scunthorpe on two storey houses. Plus two jobs for friends which need doin before Christmas, and a job through Facebook to do after Christmas.
And your the second guy off the forum to...
Just thinking of setting an account up.
Don't like Facebook at all, but if it generates work I will do.
my question is, is it any good, has anyone had any success with it.
cheers
cant take work off me, I'm not there anymore.
just hope they pay me for what I've done.
reason being, had a feeling there might be trouble getting paid, So I took the liberty of taking plenty of pictures of the works carried out.
Just ****** the job off worst site I've ever been on can't earn nothing.
Plus they had two more teams of spreads who made it hard as poss to earn money, like I needed some dot and dab which was outside my plot ready to be loaded out with fork truck through French doors 1 hour later they took...
