I know the feeling!ive been doing a kitchen out today and the customer is a knob!the type who stands there all day watching you and moaning!then I come home open a bottle of red and now missus moaning to get rid of left over plaster board from job in our house!my van is rammed starting new job...
its great for overskimming!brilliant key but the walls do take a long time to set but if you got the runs you can easily do 3 to 4 bag sets :RpS_thumbsup:
this is what I thought!i need to tell the customer that the architect has dropped a bollock in recommending a sand cement finish with this system!not sure what to recommend for this time of year!any ideas?i don't spray its all by hand!:RpS_thumbsup:
was wondering if weber rend aid 2 be ok to use? but to be honest I may turn this job down as I don think architect knows what he doing! talked to few lads on the job and they agree!he supposed to be project managing the job and hasn"t shown his face much!he seems to pass the buck
hi all!been asked to do a job!its on ecotherm polystyrene blocks pumped with concrete!the system architect wants is for it to be finished with sand and cement smooth render or stucco!obviously the ewi needs to be fibre meshed first with a base coat but not sure which base coat system is best...
hi guys!my apologies for not introducing myself! i from s wales and been plastering for 20 years!maybe longer if you count helping my dad on site from age of 12 lol!
I was doing k rend job last year it was on ewi>customer paying for materials!he told me to get it done I argued that it was going to rain he was adamant to get it done!i done it to prove a very costly point!when your scraping back in the rain it just clogs up and draws the water through causing...
dashed today new double extention had to marry in with the old 1970 style quartz used 10 mill grey chippings as going to be painted over!finished job cleaned up and went to boozer!looks out window three pints later and pissing down yup had to leave and tarp the lot lol I love my job
I agree totally that is my point!customers in the private sector don't understand the science envolved and are more likely to take the riskthan the likes of me and you!all you can give them is options and your own risk and assess methods regardless of luck!hey it was trial and error whe man...
if you want to get technical none of your spec will be acceptable as they are too strong for sand and cement and the only cemetitious product is weber rend aid 2 as a backing coat all others are for their own products albeit they offer the same substructure but no guarantees for usage with sand...
you know the score you can not give a guarantee for plastering over any painted backround!the customer should be made aware!obviously if your pricing the job and providing the spec research should be made!but customers wont always pay for top spec jobs and if you think otherwise your a raging liar
the actual question asked was can you use sand and cement over a painted wet dash backround we can all go into the weber rend aid 2 and various other base coat systems!but were these expensive systems really priced in the job ????
why you all getting technical he never mentioned parex mono weber k rend blah blah blah methomatharaclalite or anything he just wanted a basic suggestion to a normal straight forward job
I have done this a few times, firstly I score it with a grinder then jet wash.when applying scratch I sbr first then lay on a very tight coat and allow to set then render as normal!few scratch coats may be required to get over some of the rougness of the dash and obviously this technique is only...
