    its so the plaster holds , scrim was nt used in the old days,and i was taught to put a tacking nail between the laths , when iv done the odd job and didnt have a van always brought lath s to stick in the boot of car and scrim them

    let it go off to your touch then rub it up with a wet spronge float , not too heavy , then pat it , it will give you a nice stipple finish or even just use a float , its a common finish in Ireland called napping ,

    tosh nail it with 50mm roofing nails, get them in as far as you can , then use something like metal rod and hammer on it send them home , iv got a bucket of 50,s thats why i use them when i can :rolleyes)plus too mean to buy screws

    look at the size of a screw head , its a few mm, look at the size of a gal roofing nail nearly 10/15 mm and i sleep at night, becoz I dont get call backs becoz we feckin nail for years with not problems , has I said it works for me , but if the customer or builder wants it screwed I screw it ...
