It’s all good I love the banter too, just frustrating when people straight away think you are a fraud!! So bollox to you all!!!lol

No he didn’t it’s all my own fault putting on to thick, not washing it down or pva-ing. Before plastering!!! Unifinish is a bit of a diva when u think about it!!lol

That’s why I wish that BG had just brought out a new & improved multi, surely it wouldn’t have made such a fuss. What about saying in some cases doesn’t need pva on the back of the bag?

BG had offered to pay for 1st job as a good will gesture. But not 2nd I didn’t take them up on their kind offer because it was a good will gesture. I also feel that after posting on here I may of upset them. That’s why they responded so quickly with email.

Oh really?? I use a plastic last trowel & I liked its finish. I was confident with it until these 2 jobs. So like a few of you I would have been & have been singing its praises. Now I’m the Dodgy plasterer!!!;)

Both jobs had horse hair & lime under painted surface, maybe that?!! Just frustrated me that BG came out on 1st job then not interested in 2nd job because if said I was gonna stop using uni until I knew what the results of tests they are supposed to have run!!

I had no problem until 3 months later. That is what worries me!!!! It went on lovely ,troweled up really well & was waiting for it so it didn’t go off to quick either. Same with both jobs!! Like I said in previous posts I have used quite a bit of it so just waiting to see if any other jobs come...

Obviously again my fault as I should have pva’d!!

That was me having to take uni falling down and the pink patch was pva & multi, which stuck!!!!

Uni I think gives a better finish so when I was plastering over board I’d use multi as it was cheaper 1st coat then uni 2nd coat

Wanted to try the new product & liked the finish it left. But then tried it without pva!!!!!!!

Bg seem to have put all their effort into unifinish when I feel they should have made more effort making multi smoother & the bags stronger & stick a couple of quid on the new product. Instead they can’t possibly sell a product that states on the front of the bag doesn’t need pva or pretreatment...

So have you yourself used unifinish without pva? Both jobs that I had call backs on as an experienced plasterer I didn’t Think needed pva as the substrate looked sound. If I was uncertain of that I would have pva’d It then no need for unifinish. I feel that if I had pva’d it then that would have...
