Should I pva wall before skimming if its render?

Great thanks guys. It's almost dry throughout apart from one bit which was the main spot of damp /Efflorescence so will give it until early next week then skim over and post pics

How long should i leave the cement to dry before skimming? Should it be bone dry?

Waiting for cement to dry out fully before skimming, been around 6 days so far is this normal? Seems to be taking a while. The waterproofer admix i added did have a retardant in.

That's great thanks. The only thing I need to find now is a decent cheap salt preventer chemical near Sheffield for the tiny amount needed; any recommendations do trade point do anything useable?

Oki think ill try the sand cement method, what would be a good walkthrough? Hack off, wash bricks with salt preventer, leave bricks to dry out few days, plaster sand cement (ratios?? I have no idea) then multifinish skim on top. Dont want to board will be much easier if I can skim it
