From what your telling us they sound like a gang of chancers. Its hard to give an honest verdict on here without pics. seeing it in the flesh will let you know for sure. Like I said previously get a second opinion.

Why don't you just get a second opinion from another reputable contractor in your area? If he visits the site surely then you will know for sure.

I would say it will be fine mate. When ive used it in the past it was prior to applying the scratch. The scratch coat itself hung around like a top/receiver coat would do so should be ok. It seems to grip pretty well also. We usually chuck in a couple of handfuls of plastering sand for extra grip.

I think this is plasprime x that has been renamed I've used it on face brick to get better bond prior to scratch. I does kill the suction so you probably could if you had a nice flat surface to go onto. Still prefer a good old scratch though

Sovereign will say you can't and try and sell you renderlite finish which is terrible stuff to finish and about £15 a bag. Ive used multi on it a few times hangs but goes ok. Im same as arti use kingfisher renovating plaster as they dontbmind you using multi to finish
