Has anyone used the parex acrylic render? Could do with a bit of feedback guys.

I have a large job im quoting to remove old existing render, hollow and allowing water penetration , and im going to replace with probably parex monorex render. Now, will i need to apply a base product over the old brickwork before applying the render or will a good stiff brush over the bricks...
