Never understood why as seen as the job title is all explained in the name but apparently you do get Joiners on site. Why not just call them Carpenters across the board? Joiner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As mentioned before it's a little more complicated than just dealing with joe public. I think the cheque was sent because making an argument out of it would have caused rifts between people and they felt that it wasn't worth it.
At the end of the day by being f'ing cheeky the customer has got...
You got it near enough:RpS_thumbsup:. The guy who did the initial 2 skim has plastered before and in theory knows how long it should take but when phoned about the issue wasn't able to really talk so instead of hanging up kind of agreed and before he's had chance to think about the whole thing a...
jrp, I'm swaying on the trades side here and not the customer even though I know him. He has tried to squeeze as much as he can for as cheap as possible. At the end of the day price work is price work.
If someone is nearing their budget suggesting re boarding etc is kinda out the question. It...
Isn't studwork a Chippies job? I always looked at joiners working in a workshop and not out on site. They make the gear that a chippie fits i.e. Windows, door frames etc.
Just say I'm the one caught in the middle because I know the guy who did the initial coat and I also know the person who the job was done for. The person refunding the money didn't want to cause any rifts just say that. There was alot of building work involved in the job as well so the ceilings...
Customer calls in another plasterer, walks him around job but instead of just showing him the ceiling shows him extras to i.e bathroom, window reveals etc. (p.s This is what I think has gone on)
Ceiling got skimmed by first guy (I know him).
Customer was happy.
2 Weeks later he says he can see white bits coming through on the ceiling and he wasn't happy.
1st guy lives 2 1/2 hrs away so not feasible for him to come back.
Customer calls in another plasterer, walks him around job but...
and the customer is trying to get the guy who has refunded money to pay for a bathroom to be plastered that was left because the customer fancied having a go at plastering so was going to do his own bathroom until he found out that it was lime plastered and would draw..
The person who did the 2 coat skim in the first place refunded 3 days worth of money to the customer because apparently that's what he was told it would take but I think that is including the bathroom.
The story is a little hard to explain but the customer has pulled a fast one and I think he may well get his bathroom plastered in those three days as well and he won't be paying anything for it just say that.
Rebording the ceiling = Customers budget being tight.
No it was 2 coats sorry my poor explaining. I'm just trying to see if someone is trying to pull the wool over somebodies eyes that's all.
This isn't the plaster's fault but someone has been charged 3 days work for something that looks like...
I'm just wondering how long it would take someone to skim a ceiling around 4.5m x 3m.
The ceiling to start with had stipple on it. It's had the stipple de nibbed and has been pva'd and one skim already but some of the white stipple is still rearing it's ugly head, it's flat and smooth but you...
More of an eager learner:flapper:
I assume with the reference to 1 week you are talking about moi? If so. Who said I'd said the method was wrong?:RpS_confused:
Ok new to the forum so Hello. Had my first go at plastering last week and picked up some of the basics.
A doorway was removed and then blocked up with thermolite blocks by someone on a job with me. The existing wall was approx 130mm (TH) so the therma blocks needed packing both side. What was...
