What advice would you give to an absolute beginner?

If your hard working, dedicated and someone who gives a toss about the work you're doing/leaving. You'll be fine. Its not plain sailing at first. Nothing is?

    Today's graft

Anyone can slate photographs of someone's work - which I've seen happen a lot on here. If the customers are happy, I'm happy.

    employed or self-employed?

Thanks a lot for all the comments. I think what it boils down to, is, do what ever suits you. If your happy with being employed & in a secure job or self-employed being your own boss, its cool. I'm in a persition where I have the choice of doing either or and wanting some advice so thanks again!

Does Being Qualified Make You A Good Plasterer

Being able to do it on paper/ theory and doing it in practice are two different things. So no.
