Thanks for your reply I did think it needed weep holes but the builder dissmised it and has told the customer they are not needed as it had a tanking slurry and pea gravel behind it

A customer has called me explaining they had a problem with rendering done by another company and the company have said they wont come bavk and do it as its down to the landscaping company , basically it has all blown and got salt deposits coming through the retaining wall , they have said that...

Hey Malc I'm not asking if you want to do the job...! Warrior I've got it up to 7.50 he was trying his luck i think , Been doing extensions for him for a while and we turn them round pretty quick ,same old story as soon as they see you making a bit of money they want to screw you on price.

Got offered a job board and skim @£4.50 sqm i said it wasn't enough and managed to get it a £6.50 is that a fair price.....? Couple of ceilings in with that but mostly long runs of wall.....!

I remember when my great great grandad was a plasterer there wasn't any trowels he used to spread it with an open toe sandal , mix it up with a twig in a bed pan ,get 3 sets on and still be home for 2.

I use the speed skim and spatula and get great results with it,Took a bit of getting used to the spat but well worth it.

Raise the issue with the supplier and tell them sponges are for Iraqis washing cars.....!

Sorry I meant whats the problem asking for free trials.... Refina are always promoting new stuff that will make our job easier but we have to fork out every time for them even if they are s**t, Its about time they gave out stuff to tradesmen and got a proper opinion ,Rather than a review made up...

I use the super flex spatula and its great but wouldn't recommend sponging.It works just as well using the trowel and spatula.

Im interested in this new trowel any chance of a free trial on one.....?

We don't do it anymore gone back to internal work, There isn't many local lads doing it in the midlands mostly polish workers who will have a 6 in a gang, all come in one car and share the same sandwich.

Did this work earlier this year and its shite/messy, If you have pride in your work and want to leave a good job then you have no chance earning a decent wage when the price in the midlands is around £15 sqm. That was for a Birmingham company who would try and screw you over every time they paid.

Ive had some good work from an ad on gumtree but a lot of people on there want something for nothing......Also the E.w.i systems work is shite .... Not much money to be made on there especially with this shite weather....

Roseville plastering (west mids) offered me some new builds @ £1.70 sq mtr and supply my own generator asked him if he was F*****g joking, His reply was ok then i will push it to £1.80 .....Absolute joke.....!
