I've used spats n speed skims since they were out. We still close in with trowel to make sure it's proper flat. Had few teething probs at first. Looked ace but few imperfections when painted. Speed skims save us time. Can flatten 3-4 bags in no time.
the walls are 3 story gables.
The property was knocked out and separated in the middle to form two blocks of town house apartments.
So the new gables were in effect internal party walls that have been hacked off.

got a job in london for 400m2 sand and cement render. its onto old brickwork and where the existing has been hacked off. i've spec'd rend aid. do you rend aid then two coats as normal or rend aid then top?
Started using the old spot n stand again lately. Nice to have everything on there while trowelling up again. But most of all... after few big days of large area my back doesnt hurt as much as when using ******** and tub...
Love my spat. I cor live without it bab. Lay on, flattenn sort angles w/ s*p*r*lex trowel, wet spat dry spat, done. No messin bout. Loadsa time between spats. Bostin finish.
But.... snapped my protective blade jonny. Any ideas on diy protectors. Tried earth cable. Just doesnt do it. Cheers.
:RpS_blushing: Just had a look at joining Walsall trade register. As its the nearest one to me (Wolves) and they want Â£80 plus vat to join per annum. Might try it it next year. They all cost money though! I should imagine you'd get one job a year at least to subsidise the join up fee.
