    I do pretty much every aspect of plastering my old refina is a 1150 (mm21)and its never struggled knocking up sand and cement render usualy 3 bags at a time same wth multi/bonding/hardwall it does 3 or 4 bag mixes no problem.my boss has got the 1800 refina and he prefers using mine

    Has anyone on here got one of those makita mixers? They look very simular to the refina mixer. I might have to replace my old faithfull after 10 years service and just saw one of the makitas .theyve got a 1300w motor so there pretty powerfull. Any reveiws would be appreiciated cheers

    those nela trowels are beasts to wear in I used one for rendering and floor screed for a year and still struggles to cut scrim with. I'll check ffx out online cheers

    I miss the marshalltown internal trowels made with the wooden handles the build quality was much better than the durasoft ones they don't seem to last as long,I've gone through 3 or 4 in the last 2 years

    most descent tool hire shops offer a repair service.i had the switch on mine replaced last year I think it cost me about £40 and I've had mine about 10 years

    that's not realy the answer I was after mate I'm no amateur I've been plastering for 20+ years I know how expensive it is because I paid for it! I've done the first 2 coats already ,bedded mesh and beads but I don't wanna waste time and money by ruining it with the wrong trowel

    I'll check out the rubber handle is it thicker?,they do look crude but I only started using wraps on the nela handles recently because I really like these new medi flex trowels there perfect weight for me but they cramp my hands after a while

    marshalltown have finally jumped on the band wagon with the flexible trowels,it looks exactly the same as a nela s*p*r*lex but twice the price.£70 for a 14 inch trowel. I don't think they will be selling too many at those prices

    I've got my eye on one of these new super prof twister spatulas.i like using the 600mm spats to flatten smaller areas but I'm getting cramp in my hands when I use them. These new ones might be the answer as they've got proper handles.has anyone got one? Are they any good? Cheers

    I've tried using the speedskims for 2 weeks now I can't get on with them at all so they've gotta go . I got one of the refina equivalents the other day and it's great to work with already. I think the metal blades are definitely my preference

    Th refina ones are so much better but because the nela one are more narrow it's good to keep one in the arsenal for lofts and those tight little barrel ceilings that everyone hates!
