    Would you do both coats of the x32 in 1 day or do it in 2 days as for the cold weather or do you think its not to cold yet If it was done over 2 days do you scratch the 1st coat as iv been told no but seems a bit not normal to me as normaly any base coat is scratched to receive the top coat ??

    Ocr is good aswell but is a slightly rougher finish than skim so I find cement board and fill beads and tape give the same smooth finish if painted

    I cement board the whole front of the fire place tape and fill then plasterboard and skim the sides of the chimney breast

    If you've got a log burner u shouldnt use anything gypsum as its combustible and will crack I always apply cement board and tape and fill any beads and joints

    Drywall adhesive all the way get 2 bags mixed at a time get it on a spot and stand easyer on the back Foam is s**t the insulated boards want to bow in the middle foam ain't got no grab Never used pink grip to be fair but can't see it working that well

    Yes he's probably trying to put 12.5 mm or 9.5mm plasterboard around the edge needs 6mm contour plasterboard

    Damp can still rise if it's on an internal Brock wall you could take of skirting and find the lowest mortar joint u can find and inject it every 100mm

    Me and my mate did 3.5 bags all the areas where fine except 1 patch about 4 inch round on a flat wall stuff seemed more grainy though than normal seemed to take a while to go off so don't think it's the base coat drying to quick

    goes on normal thickness around 3 to 4mm I'm not at work today but will get photo next week it just happens in random places no type of pattern the rest of the walls be ready to trowel just little patches appear It's like if the water I splash on melts the plaster just in the od little place

    Hi iv had some blokes skimming for me but they couldn't finish the last house as they was offered 5 houses but had to start Wednesday so left me with virtually a whole house to skim if ur intrested they have done 70m2 the house is 499m2 so leaves 429m2 left to skim if ur available cheers

    The wall probably had wall paper on it before the pva makes the old wall paper paste like mushy silicon the skim just slides on it once it starts to firm up U have to wait for it to totally dry can take a while though a good hour or two

    Artex ceiling, undercoat and skim.

    I'd pva it then put a good 1st coat of skim on wash ur stuff up let it go in give it a flatten then give it another coat of fresh skim always worked for me and if u let the 1st coat firm up u never see the pattern through as u can sometimes if u put 2 coats straight on I would never bond it...
