What van did you go for in the end? If I remember rightly you were also fond of Toyota but real Toyotas, not badge only. I'm changing mine, can't wait any longer for a new hiace so think I'll go transporter.

    Bond It Failed

That's one of the reasons I bought it. I'm into concrete, brutalist art etc and looking to do some concrete polishing with it, but f**k yes it's great for taking paint off walls for rendering.

    Bond It Failed

I've peeled bond-it off of glossy walls before, one of the reasons I went back to PVA (also bought a scabbler for roughing gloss which is immense)

I'm OK thanks Hector. Yes I do enjoy your posts and I'm missing the gigs. The boots are suede, I'd say water resistant rather than waterproof. How are you doing?

    Boots

DeWalt dealer Irvine. £50 Screwfix. Best boot I've bought. Don't like laces as get dry and slow on and off. These boots keep fantastic shape and don't go loose like other slip ons. Really good support and comfortable. Can really take a battering.

    Baumit Kp36 W Plaster

When applying finish, yes you will have much more working time and can be re-worked with sponge. I sometimes sponge finish and sometimes steel trowel, depending on what's required. The bauwer lite base is very light and can be put on at a crazy thickness without slumping. But I can't reiterate...

    Baumit Kp36 W Plaster

Not this one, but have used Bauwer which might be a similar product. The base coat was so light it was like floating marshmallow. If it says to dampen base before applying finish then make sure that happens, even if still green as the bauwer top needs this to prevent shelling.

    WHERE IS THE PLASTER?????

Journalist from BBC Wiltshire radio called me today, asking about plaster shortage and said they're doing a programme on it Friday 1.30pm ish and asked if I'd contribute. I said I will and will try not to swear.

Very useful, thanks Donzo. I spoke to Martin Lewis on the radio about the first grant. He's a good guy. Also got £700 back on council tax band after following his advice. Check you're on the correct band. If not claim past overpayments.

Churchill statue will never come down. My grandfather was at Dunkirk, remember talking to him about it, very proud. Even though I'm a socialist I wear a poppy and am at remeberance Sunday in pangbourne every year. I will still debate Churchills dark side too though because it's fact and not...

Set us back? It's the reverse of that. This signals a small progression as a species. A bit like the suffragettes (everyone thought they were loons back then remember) I feel revolution in the air and I like it.

    Excuses

Went to price a job for a multi millionaire Circus owner, heli-pad etc. They had a plasterer working on the job, but told him to leave at the end of that day as they weren't happy with his work. I walked in and he was still finishing his last set. Never forget his face looking up at me as I...

    Mesh in skim

You could put a well watered PVA on first to take the dryness out. Grit will go on a lot easier and will go further. If wall really dry the watery PVA would prevent the grit sitting (or peeling) on the surface.

I agree, in all industries big firms will be using pandemic to try it on, saying we're reducing this and increasing that. But supply and demand will be the true decider.
