    Wall partition composition

Yes that's the first thing I noticed it doesn't look as though they keying has been done on site as it is too uniform. Also it I've been roughed on top of that keying before brining skimmed/finished. Completely got me this one

    Wall partition composition

It's soft as well like a dry modern backing like bonding. You can push a screwdriver through it if you wiggle it enough. I'll get a picture tomorrow. I initially thought it was just brick with roughing in it But after playing with it it's not and it's thinner than brick

    Wall partition composition

It's not stramit There's a load of houses and bungalows round my way built with that shite All I can describe it as is a solid block of pinkish gypsum/lime with straw going horizontally It's keyed both sides with a comb so looks like what ever it is has been done on site at time of build

    Wall partition composition

Just bought a house and started doing some work to it. One of the internal partition walls between box room and stairs has got my mind going as I've never come across it before. I was about to start taking it down to pinch a few inches of room. The wall seems to be made form 50-60mm of...

    Interesting BG conversation

The rates were better then! Imagine doing it on site now at £3.5m2 The Point I was trying to make really wasn't about cost as such it was more that BG completely changed their approach to it by now trying to sell it as a just for a certain area product

    Interesting BG conversation

Well cheapest I can get it readily is £10 a bag on a pallet £560 I get multi for £4.27 So £240 Big difference if you ask me!! And before anyone asks that price on multi is from jewsons

    Interesting BG conversation

Yeah they've reduced it as they're stopping stocking it as was all going out of date nobody was buying it at original price. It finishes better than normal stuff and it dries uniformly Other than that though there's not much else
  14. R

    Interesting BG conversation

It won't at the price point. It a good stuff it's just too expensive But by changing the sales pitch to just put it on a ceiling is just making it worse. As no spreads going to do that

    Interesting BG conversation

Got a call this morning regarding the pure finish . Apparently they're sending out samples blah blah. New product this that and rest of it. Well as some of you may know it's not new and I've used a lot of it over the last 18 months. It's great stuff but too expensive. Anyway long story...

    Identify the stones!

It's definately got to be a common stone that's easily available because it's on nearly every council house round here. Which is on of the reasons I leaned toward spar But now you've got me thinking again

    Repairing scratches in k rend

A little trick I learned from rendit actually minor problems like scratches and stuff is to get a stiff brush (not wire brush or plastic) and you can rub them out most of the time. Obviously providing it's not been on months and started to weather I was on a job and the customer who was an...

    Anyone looking for a renderer

Funny you should be talking about that. A friend of mine is a builder I've known him for a few years but only 18 months back started doing all his work. He was surprised when I said are you wanting us to screed the floor. Said he stopped asking because there's not many "plasterers" that...

That's what I was leaning towards It's a nice old mess when you get close up all the front of house pushed in. Luckily for them it's got ewi which has taken most of the brunt force.

    Plastering wages fall by 2.5%

I'm in Donny myself so know how rates differ North and South. Good and bad. Putting that amount on though you should be getting paid more than the shite the big firms offer. They won't give a f**k when you get crippled up because of it

    Plastering wages fall by 2.5%

@algeeman if that is the case I salute you. If your banging those metres on alone. If I put 130+ m on a day I'd be f**k*d after a few years! Like I said I'm not here to cause or start an argument. In happy with what I earn. It provides for me and my family and allows me to live comfortably.

    Plastering wages fall by 2.5%

I'm not having any of it! I'm not here to cause trouble but all this daddy big b*ll***s skim 10000 metres a day has got my goat. Site conditions yup you can put slightly more on compared to domestics. To earn £1,000 in 3 days at 2.50m2 let's break it down. That mean 400m2 in 3 days 133m2...

    Plastering wages fall by 2.5%

Plastering is rat race to the bottom over the last few years. We are partly to blame ourselves because at some point or another we have tried our rate to get a job or compete. I did it a few years back and to be honest I nearly jacked in. But now I don't drop the rates they are what they...

    Ecorend mono

It's not bad gear but it is a long setter. Got a nice long window to scrape back so it's not bone hard next day! I don't spray personally so cant comment on that. But I have seen it sprayed and it seemed fine. Doesnt seem to slump either like some of the others.

    Breaker recommendation

I've got 2 dealt ones 1 is a cheaper corded version that's been going years handy for hacking off. I've just bought the new 18v brushless model as well which comes in handy when you don't want cables hanging all over the place. The cordless actually beats the corded version as well.

    Eco rend.

Just to pick this thread up again. Went down to their product training/engagement day today. Used the main products mentioned above and to be fair I liked them all, was quite shocked after reading some reviews. As pointed out the MR1 and base coat are creamy. It's definately a slow setter...
