Having read all this, I think it’s safe to assume that the starter of this thread is just slow as f**k. What does Tesco pay in Belgium? Might be a good shout for him.
Had one last June. Had been loafing out boards on a Thursday, was in pain on Friday and had to go home. Sunday the lump appeared and was operated on on the Tuesday night as it was strangulated. Was told six weeks no heavy lifting. Had two weeks rest then went back to work painting for a few...
I’m in the process of buying a 140yr old, 2 bedroomed end of terrace house that only needs a new bathroom, flooring and decorating. If this was a game of top trumps, would I win?
Did a house with 80 of those plaster in lights. We cut out a frisbee of 12.5mm board, and replaced it with 9.5mm. The bead then sat 2mm proud. A tight palaver, but looked mint.
I’m buying a cottage which will hopefully complete in the next month or so, if the f**k**g tenants get out. Just needs a new bathroom suite, decorating and flooring. Outside in the garden I need to build a shed/workshop. Given myself a month to do the inside work before we move in.
If you’re using an impact to screw up, get a dimpler so the screws don’t go through the paper. The drywall screws only need to penetrate the resi bar by 10mm, so in theory, a 25mm fine thread screw for first layer, and a 42 for second layer won’t reach the joist and defeat the object of the resi...
I’ve just bought a Fiesta van to use as my commuter. Does 65mpg. Only using the Crafter for transporting towers now, and for my motorbike. Will keep the mileage down on the Crafter and resale value up.
I like to add some architrave, skirting board and paslode nails into the mix. You will then be able to claim the 2nd fix pice to your measure. Be careful when adding kitchen units though. You need a really big mixing bath when you do that.
Put the cracked sheets to one side and insist they are replaced. No excuses for that, just carelessness. Ok you will always need part boards, and if they aren’t damaged on both edges, you can use a good metre of the board. Depends on how much wastage you allowed for.
Cheers Andy. Got Doctors shortly. If it is, and I go away and it gets worse, it’ll cost a fortune to be treated as road. Got a business to run too, and as usual, I’m busy as f**k.
I think I’ve got a f**k**g hernia. Found a lump today just above my groin. Tender as f**k. Supposed to be going to Holland on Thursday for a music festival. What a c**t!
My son (31) works for me too. He’s been on a couple of years now. The chap he works with mostly has been on with me nearly 3 years.
I’ve just taken on another guy who I’m training up. He worked for a builder that I do work for, and works like a Trojan. Got a good team really. A mate of mine...
Four of us. Myself and one at Sennen, and two in St Austell on the flats. I have to go to the flats sometime to do the dabbing (miles of it) . Could probably keep another boarder busy too, but four is a comfortable enough number really.
