Yea, complete rip out. At the minute the value is about half of what some of the other houses are up for sale so just gonna wait and see what it gets valued at when its finished. There's a kitchen factory right behind the house which is just about to be demolished and we think houses are going...
No, electrician for the rewire, gas plumber for the boiler! SE for the RSJ, the pipes were all lead so had to replace, windows & doors. Loads done loads to go.
Tell me about it! I've already had to replace all the kitchen floor joists, re-roof and replace a couple of rotten rafters that were being leaked on, boiler, consumer unit and more! It's had nearly £15k spent on it and its still a building site. Lol
Nope! The house belonged to the mrs grandad, who left it to her dad who sold it us! Never even been painted in 60years! He wouldn't let anyone do any work in it!
Have any of you ever hacked a supporting wall back to brick to find a whole course of bricks with absolutely no mortar underneath them? Seriously! There's a 10mm gap right the way across the wall lol
I advertise on the back of the mrs car aswell as my van I do get loads of phone calls from it! Mainly when she parks in front of someone's driveway lol
It's hard to please everyone in some situations, the customers not happy unless its shiny the decorators not happy if it is shiny, you need to get that happy medium lol
I've got too much work on to come back another day. I was pushing it by doing it today, there's no point wasting my day skimming one wall. I need at least 3 beads on each wall. If I go to get everything else he needs its wasting the day. And I won't get it done. Option 2 was a joke by the way...
I now see your point about builders! (We're *****)
I got asked to skim a kitchen for another local builder a couple of days ago. I took a day out of a job to help him out thinking I'd smash it in a day.
He was suppose to be supplying materials. Got here this morning needing 11 skim beads, he...
Funnily enough, if its only a small amount of **** I need to dispose of I use a company called GPS they give me free ton bags and pick them up for £40. :RpS_thumbup:
People think this because your being so defensive about it! At the end of the day it's a HSL everyone's done one, you've got one to do, why upload pics? I'd understand if it was 28 bedroom house with a huge entrance hall but its not! The last HSL I did was exactly the same as this in a 3 bed...
I didn't say I could do it in a day, I said its a normal days work... Like the saying "all in a days work"
im not having a pop at him cause everyone else is I just think after 15 days... I mean years experience a HSL wouldn't be called the 'big day' and he's saying he's charging £740 incl mats...
I'm sure you will find someone on here that can give you a hand if your ever struggling with these "BIG" jobs.
The "BIG DAY" lmfao loosing your virginity is a "BIG DAY" getting married is a "BIG DAY" moving out of mummy and daddy's house is a "BIG DAY" your skimming an average sized HSL wall...
I think someone's trying to brag about a 'big' job and its back fired cause he doesn't realise this it a normal days work for most of us... Apart from the lotto winners with the machines.
I'd rather use a wet brush than carry a 'selection' of corner trowels. Unless you've been on a 2 week course I bet you didn't learn with a corner trowel.
