I have to disagree mate...if you find a niche market...you can print money. Last couple of weeks I've earned around £500 a day and mostly been at home doing paperwork.
Will be taking off a month December/January.
I don't think recovery is an option...it's the way I'm wired. But I except that I'm different and work to my strengths. Ignore the haters and jealous types.
Use Celotex Insulated plasterboards with integrated vapour barrier and fix with Instastick foam...we tend to secondary fix with a plastic mushroom fixing for the larger boards 72.5mm although technical say they are not required.
Don't use drywall adhesive or stainless fixings and try to direct...
Thing is mate we only contact subbies when we already have confirmed work. That way 99% of the time they get the work. It's business somebody has to put in the work communicating with customers, running and updating 5 websites, Instagram etc. You do get some people who are blind & greedy but as...
It's a good method...if you run a tight ship you can pocket around 65K. Some subbies get get knickers in a twist when they know how much you make on them. But chances are they are not worth it anyway as they don't understand the organisation/communication/paperwork required.
Labour and materials are not broken down on estimates. So I do make a profit on materials...simply ask the customer to pay directly.
Subbies bill the customer direct plus my 20% commision then I bill the subbie 20% commision fee.
Can be a bit of a pain but VAT you lose out big time with...
£300 a day and I don't work full time. Subbies paid directly by customer. Large material orders paid directly by customer. Maximum I can earn is around 65K if I run a tight ship.
Been a quiet year have been working on other projects. Lots of tyre kickers around. Quite glad after last year as a busy year this year would certainly of pushed me into VAT.
Still struggling with fiscal drag...frozen VAT and income thresholds. They are talking about tax cuts this is not what...
Don't need a toe cap but looks like they all come with one...needs to be ultralight though.
Any recommendations? I've been looking at the Puma trainers.
The high impact finish sets quite quickly don't mix up too much in one go. I've used a lot and like it. Best way I've found to finish it is when it picks up sponge float it with a medium refina sponge float then trowel it smooth. This method will finish it similar to multi finish.
It is such a unbelievably short sighted policy that is going to have a massive knock on effect. These charges could have been teired and phased in over many years with a comprehensive (not time limited) scrappage scheme. That scrappage scheme should allow people to also invest in other forms of...
Anybody have any experience with it?
I'll be using it as a finishing coat over Ecork as part of a wood fibre board insulation system.
Setting times? Best way to finish for painting?
We don't own anything but we can lease what we don't own to others
Mate you would be surprised...especially down South and I wouldn't be surprised if those up North won't be feeling the pinch soon to. General living expenses etc have increased so much now and these additional taxes e.g. ULEZ...
People will need pay rises to cover the cost of charges/new cars which will in turn increase inflation. The worst thing about this is that Labour under Gordon Brown and Tony Blair incentivised and subsidised diesel vehicles. They are now taxing those that bought them. It is true that the ULEZ...
Problem in this country is that there are now to many takers
Just use the car to quote. If the job is in the zone I add the CAZ tax to the quote. To be honest unless I'm desperate for work I just turn down jobs in the zone...
Long term I think these charges will have a detrimental effect on...
