    Becoming a Plasterer at 40

That's the point though...I don't care, I do it how's easiest for me and so it looks fine....I would never bother to look if that helps as I wouldn't be bothered what the answer was

  17. Bartholomew

    Dot and dab

And if the walls out of plumb I tell the customer to go with it because a reveal 190mm at the bottom and 210mm at the top also looks dog s**t
  18. Bartholomew

    Dot and dab

Reveals first to run with the frame (it's OK being right but it makes it look dog s**t) leave em proud, board around, cut off the excess

    Advice on a customer

I'd probably also say I'd f**k*d his wife while on the job and he's just found out and that's why he's s**t his pants...prove that f**k*r either way
  24. Bartholomew

    Advice on a customer

It's the principal...I'd spend a few grand fighting him and I'd be counter claiming for anything I could think of...loss of earning, damage to reputation, mental stress etc etc
  25. Bartholomew

    Advice on a customer

Tell him you'll hire an independent surveyor to look at the job and he will judge it as mentioned above, the centre of the room in natural daylight
  26. Bartholomew

    Advice on a customer

Tell him to suck a dick...court wouldn't find in his favour after that time frame...I'd tell him to do his worst
  27. Bartholomew

    Spray plastering

It was a nightmare pete...its good in theory but just not worth the hassle...we gave it a good shot but I'm sure 2 sets by hand the 3 of us would have done more
  28. Bartholomew

  38. Bartholomew

    Mental Health

Plastering Charges v brick laying fees

    Newly plastered wall is bumpy.

Yes you should contact him as it isn't right and I totally agree you need a job that's right. My only point was don't judge him or her too harshly, plaster and light are funny things...if that was done on a dull overcast day and the spread ( apparently foolishly) used a flexible trowel to...
  43. Bartholomew

with hindsight , what would you change, but still in plastering

You can still do most of those now....maybe not the Mrs one

  45. Bartholomew

    Newly plastered wall is bumpy.

Its not perfect but in all photos its got horrible light shining down it....even the ones in 'natural daylight' look like low morning sun belting right down it, you can tell by the shadows its casting on the sofa
  46. Bartholomew

Should we be disappointed with this job?

Who framed the velux window when it was installed...if the framing was all unlevel it will cause the reveals to be all pissed up like that
